BILL JOHNSON

Johnson was born in Minnesota in 1951 and became a Christian as a young child. Soon after, Johnson read seven books on prayer, which significantly affected his perspective and subsequent ministry.

Johnson's father, Melvin Earl Johnson (1929-2004) was the senior pastor at Bethel Church in Redding from 1968-1982 and subsequently became Executive Officer of the Northern California/Nevada District Council of the Assemblies of God. Earl Johnson had four children, all of whom are in full-time ministry.

Bill Johnson and his wife have three children: Eric, Brian and Leah.

Watch Bill Johnson: Yielding to the Mind of God.

Watch Bill Johnson Sermon: Discover the Purpose of Power and Authority. Bill Johnson teaches on the purpose of power and authority. It is impossible to share the Gospel and adequately fulfill the Great Commission without power and authority. Authority comes with the commission, but power comes from being filled with the Holy Spirit. After commissioning His disciples, Jesus instructed them to wait in Jerusalem until they were clothed with power. Power is not only for miracles and demonstrating the supernatural, but also for endurance. Enduring hardships and staying faithful to the Lord in times of difficulty sets us up for great increase and expansion of the Kingdom.

Watch Bill Johnson Devotional: Wisdom is Speaking to You - Can You Hear It? Bill Johnson teaches from Proverbs 8 on how wisdom is speaking to you. God has solutions and answers for every area of life, and is waiting for you to ask Him for them. There is wisdom for your city leaders, wisdom for your family, business, relationships, finances, and more. Whatever you face today, seek God for His wisdom. Wisdom is calling out to you, can you hear it?

Bill Johnson Sermon: Step Into Boldness and Breakthrough in This Season. Bill Johnson encourages listeners to step into boldness and breakthrough in this season. Whatever challenges you might be facing, God’s original plan to extend His Kingdom through you remains. There is no plan B. Choose again today to step into boldness and breakthrough as you pursue God and His Kingdom above all else. People are desperate for hope, and you have the privilege and responsibility of walking in the hope of Christ and letting Him bring divine solutions to others through you.

Watch Bill Johnson - The Power of the Gospel and the Great Commission. Bill Johnson teaches on the power of the Gospel and the Great Commission. The “go” of the Gospel is essential whether it be through missions abroad or in your own hometown, but Jesus’ instruction to the disciples was to first wait in Jerusalem until they were clothed with power. Receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit and walking in His power is available to every believer and is vital as we follow in Jesus’ footsteps, representing Him well and extending His Kingdom through the power of the Gospel.

Watch Bill Johnson: The Kind Warning of a Father: God’s Commands Bring Life. Bill Johnson teaches from Proverbs 7 and the kind warning of a father. God’s commands bring life. They are never restrictive, and are always to protect our purpose. Following God’s commands lead to pleasure and fulfillment of our purpose and calling. Heeding God’s warnings and following His ways begins with the decisions we make in our hearts. We must be continually devoted to the Lord in both thought and action, trusting in Him as a good Father who wants the best for us.

Bill Johnson Sermon: How the Holy Spirit Empowers You to Build God's Kingdom. Bill Johnson teaches how the Holy Spirit empowers us to walk in the fullness of God’s Kingdom here on earth. Jesus told His disciples that it was better that He went away, so that He could send the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has been entrusted to us by God, to transform us into the image of Jesus and build His Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is available here and now, but if we are not aware of what we have legal access to as sons and daughters of God, we will not lean in to partner with Him to see His plans and purposes fulfilled in the earth.

Watch Bill Johnson: How to Enter Your Promised Land and Leave Behind the Wilderness. Bill Johnson teaches how to enter your promised land and leave behind the wilderness. The Israelites circled the same mountain in the wilderness for 40 years, not realizing that God was looking for their trust. God does not want to bless you more than you can handle, and will withhold blessing (resource, favor, anointing) if it would destroy you. God is more interested in the condition of your heart and wants your trust. Keeping your heart surrendered to the Lord is key in preparing to entering God’s promises over your life. How you celebrate the breakthroughs of others prepares you for your own breakthrough.
