BILL JOHNSON

BILL JOHNSON

Johnson was born in Minnesota in 1951 and became a Christian as a young child. Soon after, Johnson read seven books on prayer, which significantly affected his perspective and subsequent ministry.

Johnson's father, Melvin Earl Johnson (1929-2004) was the senior pastor at Bethel Church in Redding from 1968-1982 and subsequently became Executive Officer of the Northern California/Nevada District Council of the Assemblies of God. Earl Johnson had four children, all of whom are in full-time ministry.

Bill Johnson and his wife have three children: Eric, Brian and Leah.

Watch Bill Johnson Sermon: Reignite Your Relationship with God. Bill Johnson talks about how to reignite your relationship with God and position yourself for revival. Sharing an example from the movie, ‘Rocky 3’, Bill teaches the need to go back to the ‘old gym’, remembering the sacrifices and ‘training’ that brought you into the favor and breakthrough you walk in today. Remember your first love and refuse to level off in your relationship with the Lord. Breakthrough brings favor, but with favor can come the temptation to become complacent and comfortable in your relationship with God. If you will keep your heart yielded to the Lord and hungry for Him, you will be positioned and ready for revival.

Bill Johnson Sermon: How to Walk in the Abiding Presence of God. Bill Johnson teaches on how to walk in the abiding Presence of God Himself. How many times have you wished Jesus was sitting across the table from you? Before Jesus left His disciples, He told them it would be better for them that He went, and promised to send the Holy Spirit; another just like Himself. God never intended to abandon you or leave you in the dark. The Holy Spirit has been given to you as a down payment of your inheritance, and He wants to lead you, comfort you, empower you, teach you, and fill you with His Presence, peace, and joy. You have the privilege of learning how to walk in the abiding Presence of God in every area of your life.

Bill Johnson Devotional: Timeless Proverbs to Live By. Bill Johnson’s devotional, The Pursuit of Wisdom, is a journey through the book of Proverbs and life of Solomon. This compilation of sessions 5-8 encourages listeners to pursue and live by the timeless and practical wisdom found in proverbs. This wisdom can be applied to every area of life, and leads us into deeper trust in the Lord as He makes our paths straight. Heeding these instructions from the Lord impacts not only our relationship with Him, but our family, relationships, employment, business, how we manage our resources, and community life. These are proverbs to live by.

Your Spiritual Inheritance and God’s Heart for Continual Revival - Bill Johnson Sermon. Bill Johnson teaches on spiritual inheritance and God’s heart for revival. What one generation experiences in God is never meant to impact that generation alone. It is designed to be stewarded and passed down from generation to generation. Deuteronomy 29: 29 teaches “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever.” God intends to build a momentum of breakthrough in such a way that each next generation would surpass the previous one in spiritual authority, anointing, breakthrough, and revival. Bill's message follows a time of prayer for healing.

The Impact of Constant and Fervent Prayer - Bill Johnson Sermon.  Bill Johnson teaches on the impact of constant and fervent prayer. Prayer is co-laboring with God and is designed to shape the course of history. Prayer is more than a wish - it is through prayer that we discover God’s heart and learn to partner with Him in what He is wanting to accomplish in the earth. Not everything happens according to God’s will (although He will use it all for good), and we have the privilege and responsibility of co-laboring with God through prayer to see His will done. Developing a lifestyle of constant and fervent prayer positions you to see significant breakthroughs in your life and the lives of those around you.

Bill Johnson Devotion: Relationships That Bring Out Your Best & Cover Your Blind Spots. Bill Johnson talks about relationships that bring out your best and cover your blind spots in session 8 of The Pursuit of Wisdom Devotional Series. Teaching from Proverbs 5, Bill shares on the importance of building meaningful relationships with people who not only bring out your best, but also strengthen you in your areas of lack. As the Body of Christ, we are members of one another. We are not designed to ‘have it all’. Each person has a strength that is for the purpose of building others up. Lean into relationship with those around you, generously adding strength to their lives, as well as letting them bring strength to yours. Don’t go it alone.

The Birthplace of Breakthrough: Walking in Power - Bill Johnson Sermon.  Bill Johnson talks about the birthplace of breakthrough and how to walk in the power of the Gospel. In Revelation 2 Jesus warned the Ephesian church ‘You have lost your first love’. His remedy: ‘Do the deeds you did at first’. Many times early on in our Christian life we pay a great price to follow God, but as we begin to experience breakthrough we can become comfortable and complacent. Bill Johnson challenges us to not forget our first love or the deeds we did at first, and to continue saying ‘yes’ to God and surrender to Him in every season.

Bill Johnson Sermon: Love Is the Context for On Earth as in Heaven. Bill Johnson teaches on the power of love and how it is the context for “On Earth as it is in Heaven”. After teaching the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus spoke about the importance of forgiveness. How you watch over your heart matters and it’s important not to let bitterness or disappointment take root. Walking in forgiveness is not saying that the wrong done against you does not matter, but it’s about taking care of the issues of your own heart. How you walk in reconciliation and communion with others impacts eternity. The context for revival is love - have you learned to love?

Watch Bill Johnson: Heart Health: Keeping Your Heart Healthy. Bill Johnson talks about heart health and the importance of keeping your heart healthy in session 7 of The Pursuit of Wisdom devotional series. Proverbs 4: 23 urges readers to “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the issues of life”. Heart health is central to every area of your life and success, including your physical health. Keeping your heart healthy is not about soul-searching or introspection, but about recognizing thoughts and attitudes that are not consistent with God’s word. Bill Johnson also talks about parenting and raising kids to manage their own attitudes and respond well to the situations they face.

Bill Johnson Sermon: God Doesn't Ask for Great Acts of Faith, Just Your Simple “Yes”. Bill Johnson teaches from Malachi on God’s desire for your simple and genuine devotion. God is not asking you for great acts of faith, He simply wants your “Yes” to Him. Offerings of your time, resources, or even faith are not pleasing to Him unless they come from your heart. Bill Johnson challenges listeners to return to the simplicity of devotion to Christ, giving all to Him. The blueprint for the transformation of cities and nations is found in the lives of those who have said “yes” and live simply in daily, genuine devotion to Jesus.
