BILL JOHNSON

BILL JOHNSON

Johnson was born in Minnesota in 1951 and became a Christian as a young child. Soon after, Johnson read seven books on prayer, which significantly affected his perspective and subsequent ministry.

Johnson's father, Melvin Earl Johnson (1929-2004) was the senior pastor at Bethel Church in Redding from 1968-1982 and subsequently became Executive Officer of the Northern California/Nevada District Council of the Assemblies of God. Earl Johnson had four children, all of whom are in full-time ministry.

Bill Johnson and his wife have three children: Eric, Brian and Leah.

Watch Bill Johnson Sermon: Keys to Influence, Walking in Both Divine Wisdom & Supernatural Power. Bill Johnson finishes his series, The Beauty of Wisdom, by sharing keys to influence through walking in both divine wisdom and supernatural power. The Holy Spirit desires to work through us to reach others both overtly and covertly; through outward signs and wonders, and through working us into society and culture like yeast into dough. As seen in King Solomon’s life, his wisdom drew kings from many nations to come and sit at his feet. As we surrender to the Lord’s plans and purposes for our lives, we will be filled with the Holy Spirit’s power and divine wisdom, influencing many for His glory. It is not about us having the all answers, but about loving and serving people with excellence and care, and introducing them to the One who loves them most. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14,16 NKJV

Watch Bill Johnson Sermon - A Foundation for Growing and Walking In Great Faith. Bill Johnson teaches foundational keys for growing and walking in great faith. Faith does not come from striving, it comes from surrender to the Word of God. Faith is such an important subject for us as believers because we cannot please God without it. Learning where faith comes from and how to grow in it is key to walking in great faith, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Watch Bill Johnson Sermon: Strength for the Battle is IN the Battle (There's Food in the Fight). Bill Johnson teaches on God’s promise to strengthen us in our battles. Strength for the battle is found in the battle. Often we feel unqualified or weak in the face of spiritual warfare, but if we will say “yes” to God, regardless of what we feel, we will find strength in the battle. When the Israelites faced giants in the Promised Land, Joshua encouraged them that the giants were their bread, but because of fear, the Israelites chose not to face their enemies and take the land. Of an estimated 2 million Israelites, the only 2 men to enter the land 40 years later were Joshua and Caleb because they never wavered in God’s promise. Many of us want strength FOR the battle, but God promises to strengthen us IN the battle, if we will continue to say “yes” to Him with faith and confidence in His word.

Watch Bill Johnson Sermon - Building Cities God’s Way. Bill Johnson continues his series, The Beauty of Wisdom, focusing this sermon on God’s heart for cities and nations. Bill shares his 1979 encounter in Isaiah 61, and his revelation of God’s desire to rebuild ruins and redeem and transform entire cities and nations. The church has been predisposed to the darkness of the end times rather than God’s plan and heart to save and redeem large groups of people. The wisdom of God is attractive, it’s something that people crave and recognize when they see. We are to be salt and light in culture, walking in wisdom and power in such a way that would draw people to the Lord and His goodness.

Watch Bill Johnson Sermon - Why You Need to Be Filled With the Holy Spirit. Bill Johnson teaches on our need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and with power. There is a simple solution for every problem we face in life; God is the answer to everything. Baptism in the Holy Spirit connects us with God’s peace, wisdom, power, and divine solutions for every situation. Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, He instructed the disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were filled with the Holy Spirit and with power. Teaching from Acts 2 and the day of Pentecost, Bill Johnson encourages listeners to seek the Lord for a fresh baptism in the Holy Spirit, and be filled to overflowing.

Bill Johnson - Watch Sermon: How to Discern and Steward the Word of God in Your Life. Bill Johnson teaches on prophetic ministry, and how to receive, discern, and steward the word of God in our lives. In 2 Chronicles 20, the Israelites were encouraged to “believe God’s prophets, and you shall prosper”. Valuing and stewarding the words God has spoken to us through the Bible and through prophecy is key to our breakthroughs and in entering the abundance of life He has promised us. Bill Johnson shares practical ways in which he discerns and stewards his own prophetic words.

Watch Bill Johnson Sermon - Blessed Are the Poor In Spirit. Bill Johnson continues his series, The Beauty of Wisdom, and teaches from Jesus’ beatitude “Blessed are the poor in spirit”. What does it mean to be poor in spirit? Staying conscious of our need for God is what keeps us positioned to recognize what God is doing in the earth. God is not looking for people who want fame and influence, but for those who will surrender their lives to Him, willing to say “yes” to whatever He is saying. Being poor in spirit, choosing to live in dependency on the Lord, is what positions us to be used powerfully by Him.

Watch Bill Johnson Sermon  - God Is Good, He Is Better Than You Think. Bill Johnson teaches on the truth that God is good and the importance of developing an understanding of God’s nature. We know that God works all things together for good for those who love Him, which means we can trust His goodness to meet us in every situation we face. Knowing that God is good must become foundational in our lives as it affects how we see and respond to the difficulties of life. God is good - He is better than you think!
