Jentezen Franklin (March 23, 2024) Daily Devotional: Living In Miracle Territory.

“And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”  2 Corinthians 9:8

The feeding of the five thousand is the only miracle that is recorded in all four of the gospels. No other miracle is found in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. There are different miracles that are seen in one or two of the gospels, but for some reason, God wanted this miracle of provision to be put in every one of the gospels.

God said it four times because He wants to establish the fact that you are living in miracle territory when you have a need that seems too big to supply. When it looks impossible or when there are “five thousand people and only five loaves and two fish,” you are in prime real estate to see God work a miracle.

The Bible says that there was a great need among the people. The people were hungry in a desert, and it didn’t look like getting food for this crowd was possible. The “desert” doesn’t always look like miracle territory. A desert doesn’t seem like the place where you would experience an overflow of provision, but you may be in miracle territory and don’t even know it. You may be in a “desert” financially or in a problem you can’t seem to find a solution for, but you serve a God who is willing and able to intervene in amazing ways.

When the disciples saw the situation, they spoke up and said, “Send the people away.” But Jesus said, “They need not depart.” The people had “outran Jesus to get there,” the Bible says. They were so hungry for spiritual food that they neglected to bring any physical food. These five thousand people were so hungry for the Word that they forgot about their natural hunger. Jesus saw their need for Him and wanted to bless them in a miraculous way.

If you don’t think you need God, He can’t give you a miracle. In the Old Testament, there’s a story about a woman who had the bill collectors coming. She didn’t have the money to pay them, and they were going to enslave her sons to pay the debt. But God gave her the instructions to “go out and borrow pots and vessels from her neighbors.”

He said, “Borrow not a few. Go get pots. Go get as many as you can get and bring them into the house.” When they started pouring, all they had was a little bit of oil in one container, but as long as there was a need and an empty vessel, God just kept supplying. And the Bible says, “When they ran out of vessels, the oil stopped.” Heaven does not run out of fullness; the earth runs out of emptiness. It’s dangerous when you’re so comfortable where you are that you think you don’t need Him.

No matter what you are going through today when God sees your need and faith in Him, you are in miracle territory.

Jentezen Franklin (March 22, 2024) Daily Devotional: Miracles In The Storm.

“If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!’” - Matthew 17:20-21

One day, the disciples were in a boat on the Sea of Galilee when, all of a sudden, a violent storm came. The disciples were toiling and laboring with the oars but couldn’t get anywhere. The waves were filling the boat, and they feared they were about to drown and die. Then Jesus came walking on the very thing they were worrying about. He was walking on the water.

Jesus is above all your negative circumstances. He is walking on what you are struggling with. What you’re worried about is going to bring glory to Him because it is already under His feet. He is in control.

But interestingly, the passage says Jesus came walking on the water, “and he would have passed them by,” but then someone cried out for help. Jesus stopped because somebody cried out for Him, and when he climbed into the boat, the winds immediately ceased. The disciples had been toiling and worrying, but the minute Jesus was invited into the situation, the threat was neutralized. We serve a God who can heal your disease, deliver you from addiction, restore your marriage, pay your mortgage, or instantly change any situation you are in.

Problems don’t move God. Faith moves God. People crying out in faith motivates Him to act. Jesus said to the blind man, “What do you want me to do for you?” It was obvious that the man was blind. Jesus wanted to see his faith. He not only healed the man of blindness but later led him to salvation. No storm or trial you are in is too much for God, but don’t assume that He is going to intervene if you don’t demonstrate your faith by asking for His help.

A centurion came up to Jesus asking for his help because his servant was at his home, paralyzed and in terrible pain. Jesus offered to go there and heal him, but the centurion said, “Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.” And when Jesus heard this, he was “amazed” at his faith and said, “Go back home. Because you believed it has happened.” His servant was healed that very hour. Few things amazed Jesus. This man’s faith was one of them.

God wants to climb into the boat of your hardships. As he told the disciples, He is now telling you, “Don’t be afraid. Take courage! I am here!”

Jentezen Franklin (March 20, 2024) Daily Devotional: Make Room For A Miracle.

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare of the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I am trusting him. He will shield you with his wings. He will shelter you with his feathers. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” Psalm 91:1-2,4

In 2 Kings 4, there is a story about a wealthy woman and her husband who met Elisha and invited him over for dinner. This became a regular occurrence whenever Elisha was in town. In verses 9-10, the wealthy woman tells her husband, “I am sure this man who stops in from time to time is a holy man of God. Let’s make a little room for him on the roof and furnish it with a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp.” Another version says, “Who passes by us regularly.” She was referring to Elisha, the prophet who had received a double portion of God’s anointing and was performing many powerful miracles. This woman was saying that it wasn’t enough for Elisha (who can represent God) to just come and visit once in a while. She wanted to make room for him in her home. She wanted him to spend as much time as possible with her family, so she had her husband make him a bedroom.

God wants to be more than just a “passerby” in your life on Sundays at church. He wants you to make room for Him to live in your home with your family. He wants to be involved in your personal goals and dreams. He desires to be a part of how you raise your children and how you treat your spouse. He even wants to be with you in your day-to-day activities, like working at your job or caring for your kids. He wants you to live a full and abundant life in close fellowship with Him.

So Elisha, who before was just a visitor in the wealthy woman’s house, became an inhabitant of her home. He later ended up praying for her to have a child when it seemed impossible, and she eventually conceived and had a son. Then, years after, when the son got sick and died, the woman carried him up to Elisha’s room, and he prayed for him, and the boy was raised back to life! All these blessings and miracles happened for this woman’s family because she decided to let God take up residence in her home.

Don’t be satisfied with letting God be a “passerby.” Invite Him into every part of your life today. It is a decision you will never regret.

Jentezen Franklin (March 19, 2024) Daily Devotional: Miracles In Your Home.

“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” Psalms 145:18

How much of Jesus do you have in your home? You may think that spirituality and miracles are supposed to happen only in the church, but many examples in the Bible show how much God wants to move in your own home. In the book of Acts, the church is mentioned 18 times, but the home is mentioned 39 times. The New Testament is filled with stories of miracles and salvations in people’s houses. God can do and has done some of His greatest miracles in homes.

In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit was poured out, and the New Testament church was born. This great move of God did not happen in a sanctuary but in the upper room of a man’s home. God can pour out His Spirit on you and your family as you sit in your living room.

In Acts 9, God told Ananias to go to Straight Street to a man’s house to find Saul of Tarsus, who was staying there. God told him to lay his hands on Saul and heal him because he was a chosen vessel. The greatest apostle in the world and the man who wrote half of the New Testament was not healed in a church. He was healed and ministered to in a house. God knew exactly where he was staying. God also knows your address and wants to meet you there.

In Acts 10, Simon Peter is led by an angel to the home of a Gentile named Cornelius. Cornelius was waiting for him and had brought his family and friends into his house to hear what Peter had to say. Acts 10:44 says, “And when Peter spoke these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all of them who heard the word.” Most of the world is comprised of Gentiles, and it is amazing to realize that none of us would be in the kingdom of God had it not been for an outpouring of God’s mercy on a house of people. Previous to his visit, God had revealed to Peter His will to include the Gentiles in His plan of salvation. This huge plan to reach the majority of the world started in a man’s home.

God’s power can reach you in your home right now. He can heal your body and break the bondage of sin. He can restore marriages and broken family relationships. He can reach your sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. God still wants to bring miracles into your home. He is looking for people who will become evangelists to their own families. Start talking about Jesus to everyone who enters your home.

Remember that you are either building your house on the sinking sand or building it on a rock.

Pray this prayer today: “Lord, I would love for you to pour out your spirit on my house. I want my family and children saved. I want to worship you in this house. I give you my family, marriage, and children and invite your Holy presence into this home.”

Jentezen Franklin (March 17, 2024) Daily Devotional: The Number One Ingredient For A Miracle.

“And the Lord formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7

NASA has a telescope called the “James Webb’s Miri,” and it offers views of colors on other planets that have never been seen before. This powerful telescope has allowed scientists to determine that the major ingredient for star formation and life itself came from dust. Scientific studies often confirm the truth of the Bible and how God created the world.

When God breathed life into you, He didn’t see a ball of dirt; He saw enormous potential and purpose. He is magnificent, but He works with mundane things. Time and time again, we see in the Bible that Jesus was drawn to the “dirty” people of society. God is drawn to people who are broken. He’s not afraid to help families who are in a mess or people dealing with life struggles. The greater the hurt, the more God is drawn to that situation. God loves to shape and breathe new life into dirt as He makes it a trophy of grace. Where we see dirt, God sees life.

When Jesus healed the blind man, He created a miracle by mixing his own DNA with the dirt from the ground and rubbing it on the man’s eyes. God wants to use the dirt of your life- the failures, humiliations, brokenness, pain, addictions, and shame. What the enemy meant to harm you, God will turn it around and mold it into a miracle.

Confessing our sins and wholeheartedly bringing our dirt to Jesus is the number one ingredient for a miracle. He can take the dirtiest things in your past and use them for good. Where there is dirt, there is grace, and Jesus loves you enough to meet you right where you are.
