Joyce Meyer (November-11-2021) Daily Devotional: Power to Overcome

No one's life is everything he or she wants it to be. We all have disappointments, challenges and struggles, sometimes even heartbreaks and tragedies. I have never met a person who could honestly say, "My life has always been every bit as wonderful as I always dreamed it would be."

God's job is not to make us happy or to give us the lives we've always hoped for. Often, we so desperately want unsaved people to become Christians that we tell them their lives will be better if they will just receive Jesus. In many ways, this is true, but sometimes we paint such a rosy picture that we lead people to believe they will never have another problem again if they will simply ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. This is not true. Jesus did not come to give anyone a life of leisure; Jesus came to give us abundant life, but not a trouble-free life. Part of the abundance He offers is the power of His Spirit to overcome what others cannot.

As believers, we have the power of the Holy Spirit to help us deal with circumstances differently than nonbelievers do. When we are in Christ, we are supernaturally anointed to live our natural, ordinary lives in supernatural ways.

We can be at peace in the midst of a crisis, and we can be positive when everything around is gloomy and depressing. Why? Because we can choose joy, peace, positive attitudes, and stability. We can overcome the negative situations that are part of life, but we must choose—through the power of the Holy Spirit—to do so.

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit to help me deal with any circumstance that comes my way. Amen!

A Challenge to Overcome - Tony Evans

Tony Evans - Watch Sermon: A Challenge to Overcome. The Bible teaches that through Jesus, we have overcome sin. But in reality, all of us still struggle with sin, even though we love the Lord and desire to serve Him. Tony Evans explains the reason for this disconnect and offers the key to experiencing true victory over sin.

Joyce Meyer (March-28-2020) Daily Devotion: Overcoming the Accuser.

Sometimes the devil complicates the healing process because he bombards your mind with negative thoughts and accusations. He will whisper to your mind accusations such as, “You are so wounded you can never be healed.” Or, “You aren’t worth having a better life than you have right now.” Or, “You deserve the pain you’re going through.” The devil is a liar, and he wants you to feel guilty and condemned. He can put thoughts in your mind, but that doesn’t mean that they are true.

The mind is part of the soul, and for your soul to be healed, your mind also needs to be healed and renewed. The devil often comes against God’s people on the battlefield of the mind, and he will try to influence your thoughts and use them to stop or slow down your healing journey.

The way to overcome and conquer the accuser is to believe God’s promises more than we believe the lies the enemy puts in our minds. It is so important to remember that all of the thoughts that enter our minds are not necessarily true. Only God’s Word is truth.

Revelation 12:11 tells us how to conquer the accuser—with the blood of the Lamb (Jesus) and the word of our testimony, which means knowing God’s Word and letting it be your guide for life. It is also good to tell others what God has done for you. As a person whose soul is in the process of healing, part of your testimony is still being crafted. But part of it is already settled: You are a beloved, redeemed child of God, filled with potential! You are a miracle in the making, a masterpiece of God’s handiwork. While you were still in sin, Jesus died for you (Romans 5:8), so just imagine what He wants to do for you now that you have been forgiven and desire to grow in relationship with Him. No matter what you think or how things seem right now in your life, God’s plans for your future will astound you!

God’s great plans for your life will unfold day by day as you continue to live by His Word and let Him lead you. Remember this when the devil hurls accusations against you in your mind. Remind him of the blood of Jesus and the word of your testimony, which is that God is healing you and strengthening you more and more each day. Open the Word of God and read all the wonderful things God says about you instead of listening to the enemy’s lies.

Prayer Starter: Holy Spirit, I invite You to lead me today. Thank You for teaching me and giving me grace to reject the lies of the enemy and believe the truth of Your Word: that I’m loved, forgiven, and You have a great future ahead of me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Creflo Dollar (March-26-2020) Sermon: How to Overcome Procrastination

Joel Osteen (November-03-2021) Daily Devotion: Created To Overcome.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4, NKJV

TODAY'S WORD: Are you facing a situation today that seems impossible? Even if you don’t see how things will work out, remember, you were created to overcome. As a child of the Most High God, the Greater One lives inside you. There are seeds of faith planted in your heart, and the way you activate those seeds is by the words of your mouth. Begin to declare, “I am bigger than this problem. I am created to overcome. I am destined to live in victory because the Greater One lives inside me.” Friend, when you start speaking like that, all of heaven hears you and gets behind what you are saying. That’s why it’s so important to stir up the fire that God has placed inside you. Don’t just sit back and be passive. That obstacle may look impossible, but God wouldn’t have allowed it in your life if He didn’t already know that you could overcome it! Quit looking at your difficulties as obstacles that are going to hold you back and start looking at them as opportunities that are going to push you forward into the life of victory He has in store for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Father in heaven, thank You for Your promise of victory. Fill my heart with Your peace and joy today and help me to stay focused on You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
