I have always wondered about that.
Someone I know who has resisted The Lord for years and us very hard and hateful..holds grudges forever seems to be in this condition & in fact The Lord has shared something to the effect that he will never come out of it.
I am a tenacious person who never gives up on anybody so I do not like to think of there being no hope for him but God is sovereign & says it is out of my hands & not my business now.
This same person 's grown Son lived with him for a couple of years and came away with now a hardened heart and had, years before had a real strong experience with The Lord but had back slidden and after being around his Dad for 2 years up close is now hardened against The Lord..but in this case God has given a Promise that He is going to turn him around.
An intercessor had profysied this over him years ago and his Sister had a dream of him to that effect.
