Christian Daily Devotional (March-29-2024) His Word: Our Lifeline.

Scripture Reference: Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

The importance of immersing ourselves in God's Word cannot be overstated. As followers of Christ, it is essential that we dedicate time each day to study His teachings and apply them to our lives. Our beliefs, perceptions, and assumptions shape everything we do, and they have been formed by our upbringing, experiences, and acquired knowledge.

To align our thoughts and actions with God's will, we must allow His Word to penetrate our hearts and effect the necessary transformations. The author of Hebrews likens the Word of God to a sharp, double-edged sword, capable of cutting deep into our being. Just as a sword pierces flesh and bone, God's Word reaches the innermost thoughts and attitudes hidden within our hearts. By doing so, it enables us to confront and correct the core beliefs that govern our lives.

Through the transformative power of His living and active Word, we can overcome habits, addictions, compulsive behaviors, and negative emotions. By yielding to the influence of the Holy Scriptures, we open ourselves to God's wisdom and guidance, allowing Him to shape us into the people He intended us to be.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, I ask that You use Your Word to shape, refine, and transform me into the person You desire me to be. Allow Your powerful Word to reach my innermost thoughts and beliefs, so that I may evaluate them, correct them, and align them with Your will. In Jesus' Name, I pray. AMEN!

May we commit ourselves to the study of the Holy Scriptures, so that we can grow in our understanding of God's character and His plan for our lives. As we encounter challenges and trials, let us turn to the Word for comfort, strength, and guidance. By doing so, we will find the encouragement and inspiration we need to persevere in our walk of faith.

Moreover, let us share the transformative power of the Word with others, so that they too may experience the life-changing love of Christ. Through our testimonies, encouragement, and acts of kindness, we can demonstrate the impact of God's Word in our lives, drawing others to the hope and salvation found in Jesus.

As we continue to immerse ourselves in the Word, we will grow in spiritual maturity, becoming more like Christ each day. Through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, our hearts will be transformed, and our lives will bear witness to the truth and love of our Savior. May we always cherish the gift of God's Word, allowing it to guide us on our journey toward eternity with Him.

Daily Devotional (March 20, 2024) SANCTIFICATION BY THE WORD.

Scripture Reference: Ephesians 5:26-27 - That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish

To be sanctified is to be declared clean and holy. It is to be cleansed from dirt and impurities. In Christ, our sins are blotted out, and we are washed clean (See Isaiah 1:18). Even the vilest of men are made pure and are not as good as brand new, but truly brand new. The clean do not need cleansing. It is those who cannot wash themselves that Christ came for (See Mark 2:17).The priests in the Old Testament, because they were under the law had to wash themselves before entering the Tent of Meeting or standing on the altar before God. God instructed Moses to erect a bronze basin where they would immerse themselves that they would not die (by the stipulation of the law), as nothing unclean could stand before God by (See Exodus 30:20).

To present themselves pure, clean and worthy to stand before God, they had to wash themselves. In other words, they were doing the washing by themselves (works), in comparison with us who are made clean and sanctified by Christ Himself (grace). Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the law, and by Him and in Him, we are cleansed once and for all through the shedding of His blood on the cross. We no longer need a ritualistic washing with water to stand before Abba, because Christ has made us worthy to come before God. In Christ, we have received the purification from sins (Hebrews 1:3), and can therefore now approach God's throne boldly with the assurance that we can stand before Him because He called us.

We might not always feel worthy, but we must understand that our feelings do not define us. God's word does. He calls us worthy, and He can't "uncall" us what He has called us, because His word is steadfast and unchanging, and His mind about us is made up; He will never stop seeing us through the lens of His Son. Now, what do we do when we do not feel worthy or clean Ephesians 5:25-27. Let's see "Husbands, love your wives [seek the highest good for her and surround her with a caring, unselfish love], just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify the church, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word [of God). so that [in turn] He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy [set apart for God] and blameless"

Emphasis on verse 26, how did Christ cleanse us (the church)? By washing us by the washing of water with His word. See again verse 26, it is Christ, not us that presents us without spot or wrinkle. We are clean enough for Him because He did the cleansing. We can never meet His standards through works. Let's see John 17:17. It says "Sanctify them by Yourtruth. Your word is truth!" So, when you dont feel clean or worthy to come before God? first, know that because you feel unclean doesn't mean that you are unclean. Your feelings are not as true as the word of God. To bring your mind to the consciousness of your worthiness and cleanliness, take a bath in the word!

Immerse yourself in the reality of the word of God. Dive in and let the word do it's thorough work of washing. We don't speak the word to be clean, or to make ourselves clean just like we don't study to make ourselves approved. We study to show ourselves approved (See 2 Timothy 2:15). These are different things. We're already approved, and the Holy Ghost is the evidence that God approves of us (See Romans 3:22, 2 Corinthians 1:21-22).

Likewise, we are already made clean, but we speak the word to bring ourselves to the consciousness of this reality. (Selah). When you don't feel worthy, the last thing you should do is be quiet. Speak the word until those feelings align. Speak the word until those feelings of shame and guilt give way. Speak the word. It's a cleansing agent. Speak your reality. The word of God is a cleansing agent.

DECLARE THIS: I have been made clean and holy in Christ. This is my reality and I walk in it. I constantly renew my mind in this consciousness by the word of God. Glory!

Jack Hibbs Weekly Devotional February 19, 2024 - THE SUREST WORD.

2 Peter 1:19 - “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.”

The Bible gives plenty of reasons for bold faith, and topping the list is prophecy. Peter calls it “a sure word,” meaning it’s fixed and certain and won’t fail or waiver. The reliability of God’s prophetic Word inspires tremendous confidence because it reminds us of the knowledge and power of the Sovereign LORD who proclaims it.

“For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.” (Isaiah 46:9-10).

Why does God want us to know that He is ahead of tomorrow’s headlines? It gives us strength and courage to live out our faith in adversity. In these last days, turmoil is on the horizon, and it will shake many to the core, but prophecy reminds us that He is not idly watching history unfold, waiting to see what comes next. He is directing it!

The same God who directs the whole of mankind’s future is also holding yours close to His heart. He knows your every leap forward and step backward. Nothing can thwart His promises from coming to pass. When uncertainty creeps in, and doubt tries to rob your faith, remember to whom you belong—the Lord Almighty, the Alpha and Omega, who knows and indeed is, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. Powerful. Mighty. Able to do the impossible.

Now go forth in confident assurance and walk with Him.

Joyce Meyer  (February 16, 2024) Daily Devotional: Stay Safe in the Word.

Hearing from God clearly and avoiding the possibility of deception only comes from spending regular time with Him, learning Word. Listening for God's voice without having knowledge of His Word is a mistake. Knowing God's written Word protects us from deception. Trying to hear from God without knowing His Word is irresponsible and even dangerous. People who want to be led by the Spirit but are too lazy to spend time in the Word and in prayer set themselves up for deception because evil spirits are eager to whisper to listening ears. The devil tried to say things to Jesus, and He always replied, "It is written," and then quoted Scripture to refute the lies of the enemy (see Luke 4). Some people only seek God when they are in trouble and need help. But if they are not used to hearing from God, they will find recognizing His voice difficult when they really need Him.

We need to compare any idea, prompting, or thought that comes to us with God's Word. If we don't know the Word, we won't have anything against which to measure theories and arguments that rise up in our thoughts. The enemy can present wild ideas that make sense to us. The fact that thoughts are logical doesn't mean they are from God. We may like what we hear, but the fact that something appeals to us doesn't mean it is from God. We may hear something that feels good to our emotions, but if it fails to give us peace it is not from God. God's advice to us is to always follow peace and let it be an umpire in our lives (see Colossians 3:15).

Prayer of the Day: Father, I am so thankful for the promises and instruction that I find in Your Word. Today, I choose to live a thankful life simply because You instruct me to in the Word of God. I will act in obedience, and I believe that Your Word teaches me the best way to live.
