Bill Winston - Weekly Devotional: Vain Words. 

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. (Ephesians 5:6)

DEVOTIONAL:
We must increase the value we put on our words—every word, all the time—because God does. He hates empty, fruitless words. This verse says that when we just talk a bunch of worthless, useless talk, we are actually in disobedience! We are disobeying His mandate to be fruitful, multiply, and take dominion with our words. Instead, we are wasting our time and our authority talking about things that do not matter. Again and again throughout the Bible, we are seeing how God takes every word we say very seriously.
