Rick Warren (March 27, 2024) Daily Devotional: Resurrection Truths That Will Shatter Fear.

“[Jesus] included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.” - 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (MSG)

The Bible is full of commands. But do you know what the most common one is?

Don’t be afraid. You’ll find it 365 times in Scripture—including several times in the Easter story. “Don’t be afraid” were the first words the angel told those who showed up at the tomb on Easter morning. They were also the first words Jesus spoke after the resurrection.

It’s no wonder why it’s a common theme of the Bible and in the Easter story: Fear is humanity’s most common problem.

You might not think you’re a fearful person. But if you think about it, you may realize that many of your decisions are based on fear, such as the fear of what people think of you and the fear of failure.

But Easter brings good news! Because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, you can now live without fear. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, “[Jesus] included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own” (MSG).

When you live according to the resurrection of Christ, the Bible says you’re living a better life, a life where you’re free from fear.

In fact, there are five truths about the resurrection that will set you free from fear if you understand them. I’ll share these truths over the next two days.

First, you know Jesus tells you the truth. Throughout history many people have claimed to be God or the Messiah—but only one proved it. The Bible says, “[Jesus] was declared to be God’s Son with great power by rising from the dead” (Romans 1:4 NCV).

Without the resurrection, you couldn’t trust anything Jesus said. But you can trust what Jesus says about God, heaven, and everything else he taught because he rose from the dead like he said he would.

Second, you know death isn’t the end. Until Jesus rose from the dead, people didn’t know if there was life after death because there was no proof. Jesus changed that. The Bible tells us, “God raised the Lord Jesus from the dead, and we know that God will also raise us with Jesus” (2 Corinthians 4:14 NCV). You don’t need to fear death, because Jesus’ resurrection shows us that death isn’t the end of the story. It’s really the beginning of your best life—your eternal life in God’s presence.

Learning to live without fear will transform your life now! Tomorrow I’ll share with you three more Easter truths that will help you live in freedom from fear.

Daily Devotional (February-01-2024) Nothing But The Truth.

Proverbs 8: 7-8 - “7 for my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them.”

People of God, today we are talking on the topic "NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH". In the above scriptures, the writer was prophetically talking about the new creation in Jesus Christ. The writer was talking about they that are born in the newness of the Spirit of God (THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN JESUS CHRIST). How do we know this? Do you remember what Jesus said? He said, He is the Way, and the Truth and the life. This means that if you don't have Jesus, you don't have the truth and you cannot speak the truth. This tells us that, the writer was talking about the havers of the TRUTH ( JESUS CHRIST) . And that is us.

What kind of Christians do we have today? We have people of this world who call themselves Christians yet they are not Christians. The question is, IF YOU CALL YOURSELF A CHRISTIAN, WILL GOD CALL YOU A CHRISTIAN? Sometimes unbelievers look at the life of some Christians and say, " if this is Christianity, I better be an unbeliever". Why, because they have study the life of that person and there is no TRUTH in him, anything at all comes out of his mouth.

The secret of the Christian life is that, when they open their mouth, they speak the TRUTH ONLY, they speak JESUS CHRIST THE TRUTH OF THIS WORLD. The opening verses says "for my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 says, all the words of my mouth are righteous". Do you SPEAK JESUS WHO IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE ? Do you SPEAK OF HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS? HOW MANY SOULS HAVE YOU LED TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD?

In all things, always remember you are on a mission on earth. Jesus Christ is our FOCUS and that is why, He called us the LIGHT OF THE WORLD, let us SPEAK JESUS CHRIST WHO IS THE TRUTH, AND THE WAY AND THE LIFE OF EVERYONE ON EARTH.

Have a good day remembering that, Someone ‘s salvation depends on what you do and say in this world as a kingdom resource person.

Matt Hagee  Sermon: The Endangered Species of Truth and Reason.

Pastor Matt discusses endangered species with a new twist. These are not endangered animals, but endangered values and character traits. Our society today is a direct reflection of the church house. We must bring back the endangered traits of truth and reason.

Today’s statistics show that while many identify as being a Christian, they feel that God’s Word isn’t 100% accurate. We have let go of the truth. And the truth of God’s Word is what should guide a Christians’ life. But we have a choice. When there’s a change in environment, the species can adapt or become extinct.

Which is happening in our current society, and how can we stay true to God’s Word?

Rick Warren (January-19-2024) Daily Devotional: Are You Telling Yourself the Truth?

“Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.” - Romans 8:5 (NLT)

Have you ever felt like you are a hostage to your thoughts? Maybe you just can’t get a thought out of your mind. Or you often find yourself doing things you don’t want to do. You knowingly engage in self-defeating behavior. You know something is not good for you, but you do it anyway.

Romans 7:23 says, “I see a different law at work in my body—a law that fights against the law which my mind approves of. It makes me a prisoner to the law of sin which is at work in my body” (GNT).

Because of your sinful nature, you think of yourself and your wants more than what God wants. It’s a battle in your mind, and you’re losing it. Your old nature—who you were before Jesus changed your life—is not your friend. It is the source of all your self-defeating habits that tend to take you down.

Do you want to break those habits and have more control over the way you think?

Then you need to hear and understand this truth: You don’t have to believe everything you think.

Your mind lies to you all the time. Just because you think something is true doesn’t make it true. Just because you feel something is true doesn’t make it true. Your mind and your emotions often lie to you. Part of spiritual growth—becoming more like Jesus—is learning to know the difference between thoughts that are true and those that are not.

One of the most important disciplines you can build in life is to challenge your own thoughts. Say to yourself, “I know what I’m thinking, but is that really true?”

No matter how far you go in your spiritual walk, your old, sinful nature will keep trying to take control of your thoughts. You have to learn to question your thoughts, not just one time but throughout your day and throughout your life!

When you start to think nobody likes you, ask yourself if that’s really true. If you think it’s never going to get better, ask yourself if it’s true. When you think your life is worthless, question what Satan is trying convince you of. Then, remember what you know from God’s Word to be true.

The Bible teaches, “Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit” (Romans 8:5 NLT).

Talk It Over

  • What habitual thoughts can you stop believing when you hold them up to the light of God’s Word?
  • What are the things that please the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:5)?
  • What makes it difficult for you to surrender your thoughts to the Holy Spirit?
