GOD PRESERVES HIS OWN - Daily Devotional (January 4, 2025)

Daily Devotional (January 4, 2025) GOD PRESERVES HIS OWN.

Scripture Reference: Psalm 125:1-2 - “They that trust in the LORD shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth, even for ever."

Throughout the scriptures, God has been known as one who protects and preserves. He rescued and preserved Noah and his family from the flood, Lot and his family from Sodom, etc. There were several times that God rescued and preserved the Israelites from harm. He continued protecting them until they reached the promised land. And he is still in the business of protecting his own.(Genesis 6-8, Genesis 19, Exodus 14)

The believer is assured of God's safety and preservation from danger. In salvation, we were completely rescued and preserved from the ruin of sin and death. God always has his eyes on his own. He ensures that we are always delivered from evil. David was always conscious of God’s deliverance and preservation. He was so confident and convinced. He knew very well that no matter what, he would be delivered from evil. Saul was always after his life, but he was not worried or moved. He trusted in God’s hand of deliverance and it was so for him.(1 Samuel 23:14)

As believers, we must do the same. We must trust God to always rescue and preserve us, no matter what. There should not be a single day when we doubt the power of God. We must be confident and convinced of his protection and preservation. The assurance of safety is our present hour possession and God will not deny us that. It is his sole responsibility to protect and keep us safe for ever.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, these three young men, were put in a burning furnace and were never afraid. They were not moved but trusted God to deliver them. They didn't doubt the power of God; rather, they were so sure of God’s deliverance and, in the end, God came through for them (Daniel 3). There is no form of danger or evil that God cannot snatch us away from. It is very good to adhere to safety precautions, but we must consciously and constantly affirm God's protection.

God has always delivered his people from evil, and he is still delivering his own today. We must stay conscious of the fact that God rescues and preserves his own. We have no reason to be afraid of evil.

Confession - The eyes of God are upon me at all times! His face is upon me always! His hands are over me and I am in His hands! I am supernaturally preserved and protected! The one who never sleeps nor slumbers is my keeper! God is my refuge and my everlasting fortress! I'm supernaturally kept and preserved from all forms and all manner of evil!
