Daily Devotional (June-13-2023) GOD'S WORKMANSHIP.
Scripture Reference: Ephesians 2:8-10. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Imagine that God wanted to paint a picture. He would gather His tools and put pen to paper ‚translating His ideas into tangibility. He would ensure that everything is perfect and just as He had imagined it, and then He would drop His paint brush and reveal His masterpiece. That masterpiece is you.Because He is proud of this incredible piece of art He has created, because He created you with the best and most flawless design in mind, because no color, shape or shade was a mistake, He wouldn't keep you or regard you as just a random piece of work, No! He would hang you where everyone can see. He would flaunt you as His choicest.
When you look in the mirror, you must see more than you can see. You must see God's exact replica. Remember that you are made in the image of God and after His likeness (See Genesis1:26). The word image in the Hebrew is the word tselem which means a representative, while the word likeness transliterates to mean demûth in Hebrew which means similitude or in like manner. Before an artist starts to draw or paint, they should have an image in their minds that they want to bring to life. They should have something in mind that they're trying to translate into reality. When God was creating you, He had Him in mind.
He designed you to function just like Him. Remember that you are Christ on this earth (See 1 John 4:17). He spoke to create, and He gave you the ability to speak to create too(See Hebrews11:3), He gave you His mind, hence you have the ability to reason just like Him (See 1 Corinthians 2:16). Best of all, He gave you The Zoe; His very own life. It's important to say here that The Zoe is not just living forever. The Zoe is the very life of God, so all the characteristics embedded in the life of God sum up to make The Zoe. God's life is everlasting, so is ours. God's life is not limited to external circumstances, the same applies to us. God's life is not subject to sickness or oppression. The same applies to us. God cannot be defeated, and the same applies to us. Inherent in The Zoe is the ability to live the higher life, and this is what we have received. Glory to God!
The success or failure of a product is ultimately that of the creator or developer of that product. It is not in God's make up to make mistakes, and this is why He saw that everything He created was good (See Genesis 1:31) You are a living expression of God's mastermind, living proof of God's skillfulness and a testament to His perfection. You're too perfect to not have been made by God.
AFFIRMATION: | affirm that I am God's workmanship. | reveal His perfection and I am a testament to His creativity. I affirm that as He is so am I, therefore I function just like Him. Glory!
