INTENTIONAL DECISIONS - Daily Devotional (May-07-2022)
Scripture Reference: 2 Kings 7:4-5 NIV - "If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. So let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die.” At dusk they got up and went to the camp of the Arameans. When they reached the edge of the camp, no one was there"
Famine is in Israel and this has become too much that women began to cook their children for food. This famine is so serious that many gave up and started looking elsewhere for salvation. Elisha prophesied the end of the famine. As he gave the prophecy, God was looking for the one who will take a step of decision to bring the prophecy to pass.
We see the four lepers taking a step of faith that caught the attention of God. They were bold, they were ready for action.
As the prophecy was declared by the mouth of the Prophet, God was looking for an intentional man to take a bold step of decision. They made a decision of faith by talking a risk. "If we say, 'we'll go into the city' - the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here and do nothing we will die. So let's go over to the camp of our enemies and if they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die." It is a risk not to take risk.
They did something about their situation against all odds. What are lepers before an army? If you read on you will discover the result of their intentionality.
Refuse to see challenges and excuses around you and decide to do something, decide to take a step of faith. Don't remain in that situation, because your faith is your testimony. There's a prophecy on your life that needs you to come to pass. _"This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare." (1 Timothy 1:18)
The Word of God has gone before you my dear, why do you still sit in that sin? Why do you continue to sit in that situation? And why are you still in that sickness? Get up! O child of God and war with all the Prophesies that has gone ahead of you. You are never a disadvantage so don't allow situations to block your blessing and miracle.
PRAYER - Dear Father, thank you for this Gospel of Grace, my life is never on a stand still, I refuse to allow circumstances to keep me down, I choose to be intentional about my life. I choose to live and not to die in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
