Daily Devotional (July-13-2025) REASONS FOR PRAYER
Scripture Reference: 1 Timothy 2:1-2 - "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty".
The Bible says prayers should be made for all men everywhere and specially to the kings and all that are in authority. The nations of the world is under attack and this is backed by the power of darkness. The Bible declares the devil, Satan as the god of this world. "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them..."(2 Corinthians 4:4). Most of the leaders of nations have been kept in darkness and in ignorance and most have been kept under the power of fear. This calls for prayer.
Don't take things normally. We compare spiritual things with spiritual. We don't interprete physical things with physical no! Wickedness is on the reign and believers must man up to bring them to destruction. The Bible says what it takes to bring them under our authority is by prayer first. What is going on around the world and in nations are backed by the kingdom of darkness.
In the book of Psalms 73 (NIV) Asaph saw something and was confused and as he said in verse 2 "...my feet almost slipped."
We are not ignorant about the devices of the devil; we are not in darkness anymore but we are in the kingdom of light and as we pray we bring light to every man. We make changes and we override their plans and magnify Jesus Christ over the hearts of men.
Asaph saw how the wicked can rise up to prominence. And he began to talk about their actions which is under the direct control of Satan. Verse 5-9 "They are immune to the trouble common to men; they do not suffer as other men do. Arrogance is their necklace, and violence their clothing. Their prosperity causes them to do wrong; their thoughts are sinful. They mock and say evil things; they proudly threaten violence. They speak as if they rule in heaven, and lay claim to the earth."
Studying the scriptures opens your spiritual eyes to what is actually going on in our worlds today. Child of God, believers around the world we need to extend our prayer hours and pray life never before.
"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth".(Acts 1:8) The power we have received is the power that causes changes where we need them and through the Holy Ghost our victory is unending. Hallelujah
PRAYER - Thanks be to God for the Holy Ghost who is the power and the advantage of believers. Our weapons are mighty through God from our lips. Changes are taking place as we pray even from now in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
