Daily Devotional (July-12-2023) POSSIBILITIES BY THE WORD.
“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” - Romans 15:4 KJV
The word of God shows us what life by the Spirit is. Upon our new birth, we received access to the endless possibilities available in Christ Jesus, but a mistake we make sometimes is doing nothing about those possibilities. We must learn about them through diligent studying and then enforce them in prayer. The word shows us what our lives ought to be like. It shows us our new normal. It shows us that what has been can be, or in other words, it shows us what can be through what has been. At the same time, it shows us the side of possibilities that we are on, so in the case of Jesus and the woman with the issue of blood, we are not the ones in need of healing, because in Christ we have divine health, but not only are we whole, we are Jesus dispensing healing. In the case of the Passover, (See Exodus 12), we are not the ones in need of covering, we are a covering for those around us.
In Mark 9:23, Jesus said "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." He said all things are possible. For the man of faith, possibilities are his playground and as long as he can dare to believe, all things can happen. The word of God shows us what should be, these things are possible as the provision for them is still very much available, because it is as potent now as it then. We have hope because it has happened before, Because there is a blueprint in scriptures, we know that these things are possible. It can, but what determines if it will is our disposition and what we do with them. These possibilities will not happen on their own accord, we see it by the word, and apprehend (katalambano; take full custody ) of it in prayer. So, we see them by the word as a possibility and declare and walk in them as our reality.
Positionally, that is, in Christ, we are holy, righteous, blameless and blessed with all spiritual blessings. Experientially though, that is working or living them out requires that we see them and enforce them. It is possible to live a consecrated life because we have received the gift of holiness. It's possible to live in divine health because the sacrifice of Jesus has made divine health available, however you must see it yourself, that is, not as an observation, but as a revelation (as it pertains to you). What has dawned on your spirit must dawn on your mind by persuasion and renewal.
This is so important. Our perception of things has a lot to do with training and what we have grown up hearing. We are reluctant to try out or believe in some things because we grew up hearing that these things are remotely impossible. People have projected their own notions of impossibilities on us and so, there could be a limitation in the mind. Renewal of the mind involves expanding your seeing capacity by the word. It involves letting the word heighten your intellect and change your disposition and outlook. In Christ are amazing possibilities and realities, and we will have as much as we take. The word of God shows us what it possible (in Christ). Not environment or people's experience, but the word of God.
Nothing else, nothing less.
AFFIRMATION: I affirm that only God's word defines me. I take full custody of the possibilities in Christ, and I walk in them as my reality. Glory!
