Daily Devotional (January-18-2022) The Knowledge of Him.

Ephesians 1:15-19 - 15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power

In the above scripture, Apostle Paul was writing to the Christians at Ephesus. Paul, fore seeing their problem as a body of Christ has to say a word of prayer for them. Before then, Paul acknowledged their faithfulness and Love for the things of God and above all, their Love of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

In Paul’s prayer, he points out to certain things that were from God and only God could do them or give. In Ephesians 1:2, He points out that Grace and peace could only come from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, therefore He prayer that they maybe given grace and peace by God. Apostle Paul wrote that God has chosen us before the foundation of this world that we should be Holy and without blame before Him in Love and this was according to God’s own perfect Will.

After this Paul began to teach them the knowledge of Him (Jesus Christ). He began to unveil the identity of the glorified Son of God and the benefits one could get when you have the knowledge of Him. The question now is, how do I get the knowledge of Him? What will the Knowledge of Him do in my life and what impact can it make in nations? In Eph 1:17 paul prayed “ That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:” This means that, the knowledge of Him can only begotten by revelation in the Study of His word. You can never have the knowledge of Him until you have whole heartedly dedicated yourself to the study of the word of God. Paul’s statement meant that there is a specific knowledge of the son of God that every believer should have. Without this knowledge, one cannot speak with boldness things of the spirit because you will be speaking man’s wisdom and understanding.

What are the benefits of knowing (having a revelation on) the knowledge of Him (JESUS CHRIST)? What is the impact that it can make? Well, in verse 18 of Ephesians 1, Paul spoke about it. Eph 1:18 ‘The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the Saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.’

With the knowledge of him, your understanding is enlightened and you are able to comprehend all spiritual matters and to know the intends of man before they come into actions. Not only are you enlightened, you are also given an accurate knowledge on the hope of the calling of the saints and the riches of the Glory of his inheritance in the saints.

If you have the knowledge of Him, daily battles becomes victories and power is unleashed on the inside of you against every oppression even as you are rooted and grounded in the knowledge of Him. Paul prayed that we be given the spirit of wisdom and the revelation in the knowledge of Him to understand our true mission and to be able to overcome it in the name of Jesus Christ. Seek after the knowledge of the son of God to build yourself and to protect your future.

Prayer: We pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of all glory may give unto us the Spirit of Wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, that the eyes of our understanding will be enlightened and that we may know the hope of Our calling, in Jesus Christ Name we have prayed. Amen
