Daily Devotional (April 21, 2024) WORSHIPPING GOD IN THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS.

Scripture Reference: "Give unto the Lord the Glory due unto His Name; worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness." Psalm 29:2 (NKJV)

To worship God in the Beauty of Holiness means that we must humble ourselves before Him and approach Him as well as serve Him with Reverence and Awe. It can also mean to celebrate our Covenant Relationship with God, for we are one with Him. Our text tells us that we are to worship God in the "Beauty of Holiness." If something is beautiful, then it's desirable and accepted. We must clothe ourselves with the Holiness and Beauty of Jesus Christ. "That He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of Water by the Word, That He might present her to Himself a Glorious Church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that she should be Holy and without blemish Eph. 5:26-27(KJV). It is natural to panic and complain when we are threatened by lack, danger, sickness, or death.

King Jehoshaphat, on the other hand, led Judah to prevail against a large multitude of enemy forces by using the weapon of praise. Jehoshaphat "--- appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the Beauty of Holiness---" 2 Chon. 20:21-22(KJV). God took over the battle when they began to praise the Beauty of His Holiness. The Bible says the enemy forces fought and destroyed each other: "For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped" (2 Chron. 20:23-24). The following verse points out the result of wholeheartedly worshipping the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness: "And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much" (vs 25).

To celebrate the Beauty of Holiness means that we know that we belong to Him and that He is committed to us. Hence, whatever affects us affects Him. This is the way we commit Him to our battles and challenges. Again, to celebrate the Beauty of Holiness means to celebrate the Essence, Character, and Attributes of God. To praise the Beauty of Holiness is to recall and extol all the Great Attributes of God. He is the Sovereign Ruler in the Universe, the Great God Jehovah! He is the God of Integrity who does not break His Covenant, nor does He fail to fulfil His Promises (Ps. 89:34). He is Perfectly Faithful and Dependable! He is Jealous over you and protects you as a member of His Glorious Family. Nothing can add to Him or subtract from Him, for He is the Same yesterday, today, and forever. Hallelujah.

PRAYERS: Heavenly Father, please teach us more to know how to worship in the Beauty of Your Holiness in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.
