Daily Devotional (July-18-2025) YOUR OBEDIENCE IS GOD'S UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR LOVE
John 14:21, 23-24 - "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him... Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.”
Because Love is the greatest of all and the most powerful of all, God wants us to live it not just to confess it. Love is an action of your faith towards something of someone.
Jesus says obeying Him is the sign that you love Him. Love expressed is not love unless it is seen and accepted from whom we are expressing it to. With our opening scriptures Jesus told us how His understanding of love is and even gave us the prove of His acceptance.
He said if anyone loves (and obeys) Him: The Father would love that person, He will take notice of such a person. He (Jesus) would love that person. Then will He know and also take notice of such a person.
Because of the language of love in their hearts He went on to tell the prove of His acceptance: He (Jesus) would manifest Himself to that person. He will prove Himself in your life, He and the Father would come and make their abode with Him. God is attracted by love so if you show Him love they will locate you and make you their home.
Our actions of our love to Him must be founded on our obedience to His Word, our faith in His Word (commandments) proves our love for Him.
Jesus said the one who does not love Him does not obey Him. It means a life of disobedience is a life that tells God you do not love Him. That is what God sees. This is not completed my dear it is so clear and plane. Don't try to add anything to this to confuse yourself. When we are talking about your love for God it is based on your obedience, your readiness, your trust for Him.
Prayer: The Love of God is at work in me in all it's effectiveness, that love enables me to love Him back. My Love for Him is my Obedience to His Word, is based on my availability to His love in Jesus'Name. Amen.
