“…He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.” Ephesians 1:4-5
…Take care to recognize the order and magnitude of blessings mentioned in these verses. First, the Creator God of all has selected us to be His own. Second, because of His ownership of us, He has declared us to be holy, just as He is holy. Third, He has adopted us into His family by His predetermined knowledge. And finally, as Christians, we are bound for heaven, and that is exactly what pleases Him.
God, who dwells in eternity, was delighted to look ahead into your future, seeing you in all of life’s difficulties and challenges, and He waited. God waited until you came to the place where you cried out, saying, “Lord Jesus, save me from my sin and my destruction. Save me from me!”
In a sense, God waited for you to come to Him in a time pre-appointed. Your tomorrows may be yet future to you, but not to Him. He knows what every day has in store for you. You can take a deep breath and rest in the all-knowing God. True is the saying, “We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know the One who holds tomorrow.”
