Jentezen Franklin Daily Devotional (February 14, 2025) How To Miss Your Miracle (Part 4).

Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." 1 Corinthians 15:33

The paralyzed man at the pool of Bethesda made excuses, accepted his situation, and depended on other people instead of God. He stayed on his mat surrounded by other sick people for almost four decades. His constant companions were people who had lost hope and who had likely also been there for many years.

Have you ever wondered why he didn't call out to some strong friends who could have easily lifted him into the pool or at least shared some uplifting words? The people around him couldn't help because they were just as messed up as he was.

If you want to miss out on God's miracles, get around all the wrong people. Instead of being with strong friends who will encourage you to reach your potential, get around people who don't believe in you. Spend time with people who put you down and always see the worst in you.

Misery loves company. People in a bad place don't want you to move on to something better because they will feel worse about themselves. God wants you to hang around people of faith and character. To be a champion in life, you have to get around other champions.

You've got to surround yourself with the right people. Get in a small group. The Bible says, "Iron sharpens iron…" You have to get some people in your life who challenge you and hold you accountable. The right people lead to the right places.

You may think you don't need anyone, but we all have moments of struggle when we're feeling doubt and unbelief. Make a decision this year to get the right people around you.
