Jentezen Franklin (April 12, 2025) Daily Devotional: Propped On Your Leaning Side (Part 4).

“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy…” Jude 1:24

We all have a “leaning side.” Some of you struggle with unforgiveness and bitterness. Others may wrestle with sexual sin or addictions. You may struggle with negativity and fear. Whatever your “weak side” is, be comforted that God is here to prop you up. He’s a good God and He loves His people. He knows what you are facing. He knows if you are fearing those chemotherapy treatments that you have to undergo. He knows if you are dreading a surgery. You may be experiencing crushing grief from the loss of a loved one. No matter what you are going through you do not have to fall to darkness, depression, or hopelessness.

Let him prop you up today.

Come to Him in prayer and in the reading of His Word and let him strengthen you. He is faithful and His mercies are new every morning.

The Bible says that when Moses died, Israel mourned for 30 days. But Rabbis teach that the people mourned more for Aaron than for Moses because they identified with him more. Like them, he had weaknesses. He had lived among the people when they were all in slavery in Egypt. They knew him well. He was the one that built the golden calf to please the people and he wasn’t really qualified to be the first high priest of Israel. But after the golden calf incident in Exodus 32 Moses later encouraged Aaron to continue his priestly duties despite his mistake. When Aaron felt unworthy and like he had failed God, Moses came and propped him up and kept him standing.

Later on, Moses was leading the Israelites in battle and whenever he lifted his hands in the air, the people would win, but when he would get tired and drop them they would begin to lose. But Aaron and Hur saw his struggle and they came alongside him and held his arms up. Someone you helped yesterday could be the very person who props you up tomorrow.

You may be leaning in your relationship with God today but you’re not going to fall. There’s nothing God won’t do to help you. God will send armies of angels to assist his people. He sent his own son to break the power of darkness over your life. There’s no limit to His great love for you. If you are struggling today, pray this prayer: “God, I admit that I have been leaning towards old tendencies and habits. Oftentimes I feel like I am going to fall. The storms and temptations of life seem to be too much at times. But I know that I serve a mighty God who is strong enough to keep me from falling. I can’t do it but you can. Help me Lord to stay faithful to you. Help me not to give up when things get hard. I know you are with me always. Amen.”

What an amazing and encouraging message because sometimes God is viewed as a terrible God is ready to punish His people if they are struggling with sin or any form of weakness. Thank you.
