Jentezen Franklin Daily Devotional (May 9, 2025) You Were Made For More (Part 2).

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

Moses flipped the script for his family. He was born into a group of people who had been enslaved and oppressed for many generations. But God knew Moses needed a different environment, so He sent Moses down the river to a place full of possibilities. After being raised in Pharaoh’s palace, Moses carried himself differently. He was no longer in survival mode. He saw himself as a leader and walked with confidence. Deuteronomy 28:13 says, “The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.”

God does not want His children walking around in defeat. When you give your life to Christ, your thinking begins to change.

As you let the Word of God transform your mind, you’ll start to think like a champion and a winner.

It’s interesting that when Moses left his old dwelling place, he also changed his language. He began to speak the language of the Chaldeans. He started talking like a leader and a conqueror. As you continually renew your mind with the promises of God, you’ll stop speaking words of defeat and fear. Instead, you’ll start speaking the language of faith.

Many generations ago, the nation of Singapore was so poor that Malaysia almost bought it because it couldn’t afford to keep its nation going. But a few visionary leaders came together and decided, “We are going to teach our children English.” At the time, America was the most dominant country in the world, and these leaders wanted to connect their children to a prosperous system that could help them generate wealth and achieve a better quality of life. So they required every student in Singapore to learn fluent English. The result? Today, Singapore has more millionaires per capita than anywhere else in the world. Their lifestyle and income are now comparable to that of the United States. Everything changed because they stopped living in the past and started moving toward the future.

As God’s people, we need to be destiny-minded, not history-minded. We must grasp the revelation that nothing new is ever going to take place in our past.
