Joel Osteen Daily Devotional (October 12, 2025) Caught in a Storm.
They were in absolute awe, staggered. “Who is this, anyway?” they asked. “Wind and sea at his beck and call!” Mark 4:41, MSG
Today's Word: In Mark 4, Jesus and the disciples were on a boat caught in a huge night squall. The disciples panicked, fearing for their lives, but Jesus was at rest, sleeping in the stern of the boat. You would think that after having seen Jesus do so many miracles, they would believe He would keep them safe. But doubt and fear crept in, and they went into panic mode.
There will always be people who see everything as a crisis and try to get you out of your rest. They magnify the negative and blow things out of proportion. If you allow them, they’ll get you all wrought up, worried, and upset. But when you know that the God who controls the universe is in your boat, the One who speaks to the storms and they obey, you’ll have a different perspective. You won’t let the circumstances pull you out of your rest. You won’t focus on the size of the problem, you’ll focus on the size of our God. Stay in peace, and God will get you through the storms.
Prayer For Today: “Father, thank You that no matter what sort of storm of opposition comes against me, You are with me in the boat. Thank You that You are the God who controls the winds and the water. I believe You will still my storms, protect me, and get me to where I need to be. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
