My Will, His Will - Joel Osteen Daily Devotional (August 21, 2024)

Joel Osteen Daily Devotional (August 21, 2024) My Will, His Will.

Today's Scripture - “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Luke 22:42, NIV

Today's Word - One of the best prayers we can ever pray is “God, not my will, but Your will be done.” When things aren’t working out your way, or when your prayers aren’t being answered as you would like, that either means that God is protecting you from danger up ahead, it’s not the right time, or God has something better in store. Too often, we’re shortsighted. He knows what’s best for us. He sees the big picture. He knows when something is going to be a dead end. He knows when someone is going to be a distraction to hinder us from our destiny. Some of the things you may be frustrated about right now, ten years from now you will look back at and thank God for not answering that prayer the way you wanted or for not opening up that door. That’s what faith is all about. Why don’t you trust God? Believe that He has you in the palms of His hands and know that when it comes time for God to open a door, no man can keep it shut.

Prayer For Today:  “Father, thank You that You know best when it comes to the things I want and ask You for. Thank You that You are directing my steps and that You’ll take me through the things I don’t understand. I am going to rest in faith, knowing that I am in the palms of Your hands. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Joel Osteen Ministries Joel Osteen is a preacher who gives inspiration! And that’s true, he is positive, his sermons are positive, his ministry is positive. The parishioners of his church are very successful people, as a result! How does he inspire millions of people around the world? Let's find out! Joel Austen began preaching in 1999, but his ministry began long before: in 1982, Osteen, left his studies, returned from Houston and invited his father to create a television ministry in LakeWood Church. He became the leader and inspirer of this ministry.  Father preached, the son made video reports that everyone would like. Joel helped his father in organizing the ministry: he prepared his father for the scene; picked up suit and tie; worked with lighting and video equipment in the hall, for best results.
