Joel Osteen Daily Devotional June 1, 2024 - Overnight - Today's Word
Today's Scripture: Genesis 41:41, NLT - Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt.”
Today's Word: Joseph was taken to Egypt and spent a combined thirteen years in slavery and prison. He had no influence, no resources, no future to speak of, but kept doing the right thing when the wrong thing was happening, and God was with him. The day finally came when Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream, and overnight Pharaoh put him in charge of all of Egypt. Joseph went from no influence to the highest influence, from no resources to being in charge of all the food supply of Egypt. And he provided his entire family with a place of abundance in which to live and thrive. What happened? A transfer.
Don’t judge where you are as where you’re going to stay. God has some transfers of influence and resources for you. These transfers require obedience, honoring God, doing the right thing when it’s hard. There will be seasons, as with Joseph, when it’s not fair and nothing is changing. Don’t be discouraged. Your time is coming. It’s going to happen suddenly, out of the ordinary. You couldn’t have made it happen. It’s the hand of God.
Prayer for Today: “Father, thank You that what so often looks like trouble or a setback is really Your hand moving me toward Your purpose. Thank You that what’s unfair is going to push open doors and bring transfers I could never experience without it. Help me to be patient while You work things out. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
