shooting this afternoon at Joel Osteen’s church - Prayer for Lakewood Church
A child and a man were injured and a woman was killed after she opened fire at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston on Sunday, police said.
The woman entered the church, accompanied by a boy believed to be about 5 years old, and started shooting, Police Chief Troy Finner said at a news conference Sunday afternoon.
Two off-duty law enforcement officers who were at the church when shots were fired about 1:50 p.m. opened fire, and the woman was killed

Lord, we ask that You bring peace, comfort, and healing to Lakewood Church and the surrounding community.
We pray peace and wisdom over the first responders on the scene. We thank you, Lord, for their protection, bravery, and swift action.
Our hearts are heavy for the individuals and families affected by this shooting. Lord, we know You are near to the broken hearted and You bring healing in Your hands. We ask that Your presence would be felt by everyone impacted by today’s events, and we declare peace and healing over this precious community today.
We pray all of this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
