Joyce Meyer (October-30-2020) Daily Devotion: Be Patient—God Is Still Working!
When you’re feeling frustrated because it seems like nothing is happening in your life, or that your prayers aren’t being answered, remember that as long as you’re putting your trust in God, He is still working! Your “suddenly” is coming soon. You may wait a long, long time, but then suddenly God will show you the result of all He’s been doing while you were waiting (see Psalm 37:3-6).
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
The fulfillment of your hopes and desires will come at the right time and in the right way, so do your best to enjoy your journey. Being patient makes the journey much more pleasant than constantly wishing it was over. When you keep a humble, patient heart as we wait and obey God, He always brings a worthwhile harvest later on (see Galatians 6:9 - Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.).
Prayer Starter: Father, please help me trust You as I’m waiting for the dreams You’ve placed in my heart to come to pass. Thank You for Your grace to wait patiently, and for the ways You’re working to provide the desires of my heart. In Jesus’ name, amen.
