On her new show, Everyday Answers, Joyce tackles questions from her audience and answers them using scripture. On today's show, she tackles the question: God, Where Are You?
About Sermon: God knows your name and he knows where, you are at if you're sitting right now, perhaps contemplating suicide,God is there he knows where you're at as,we walk through each new day we all have, questions they're just part of life but,did you know there are answers for you,and God says when we look we'll find him, trying to hide anything,so together we are discovering life, every day answers we've all had those, difficult times in our life where we,just couldn't feel
God he seemed very, far away sometimes nearly impossible to,find but today we have a great storythat will teach us that no matter howfar away we walk from God he's alwaysright by our side we just seems likeyesterday I had a good job but I had aand a good life and I wasn't with my sonI was doing things and now I'm living onthe streets you know what I'm doinganything and everything to get high I'mliving in seedynasty motels I mean just terrible placesand all the time all the time today onevery day answers more of Harry's storyas joist answers the question God whereare youyou are never kidding from God he seeseverything knows everything God has hiseyes on you all the time and he neverstops thinking about you God has neverone time in your whole life ever had onebad thought about you how's that forhappythat should make us happy I'm sure thatI don't know anybody else that's neverhad a bad thought about me that God hasnever ever had one bad thought about usyou know sometimes we can get ourselvesin some pretty good-sized messes amenbut thankfully God is a God ofrestoration and when we cry out to himsincerely he will always come and helpus get back on the path that we need tobe on Genesis
chapter beginning inverse okay so Abraham rose up earlyin the morning and took bread and abottle of water and gave them to Hagarputting them on her shoulders and hesent her and the youth away and shewandered on aimlessly and lost her wayin the wilderness of Beersheba now justto give you a capsule of backgroundAbraham had a promise from God that hewould have his own heir his own childthe problem with that was was that heand his wife were both way pastchildbearing years so the only way thatcan happen would be by an outstandingmiracle of God and this promise wasgiven to Abraham and years went by andyears went by and Sarah began to thinkwell surely God needs a little bit ofhelp so she got a bright idea doesanybody here know what a bright idea isand she decided that she would give herhandmaiden to Abraham to be hissecondary wife and then that she wouldget pregnant and bear a child and shewould take that child and raise it asher own and that was the way that shewould get God's will as soon as Hagardiscovered she was pregnant then she gota bad attitude towards Sarah now Sarah'sblaming Abraham and wanting him to dosomething about itso finally she just put her foot downand said I can't put up with thisanymore you got to get rid of that womanand you got to get rid of the childbecause by now they had their own childIsak whose name meant laughter Ishmaelthe son that was not a promise but ofworks his name meant man of war anytimewe get something by our works it's goingto cause more in our life if we wait forGod we can laugh and watch God work andso the lad was probably a young teenagerand Abraham had to send her and him awayalthough it broke his heart to do sotrusting God to take care of them so nowthey're out in the wildernessnow when the water in the bottle was allgone Hagar caused the youth to lie downunder one of the shrubs and then shewent and sat down opposite him a goodway off about a bow shot for she saidlet me not see the death of the land andshe sat down opposite him and he liftedup his voice and he wept and she raisedher voice and wept and God heard thevoice of the youth and the angel of Godcalled to Hagar out of heaven and saidto her what troubles you Hagar fear notfor God has heard the voice of the youthwhere he is the first time I saw that inthe Bible many years ago it just reallystruck me.
