Daily Devotional (March 29, 2024) CHRIST IN US IS THE HOPE OF GLORY.

Scripture Reference: Colossians 1:27 - "God wanted to make the Glorious Riches of this Secret Plan known among the Gentiles, which is Christ living in you, the Hope of Glory." Colossians 1:27 (Common English Bible)

The Christian Life is empowered by Zoe, i.e., the Divine Nature or Eternal Life. In other words, the only way to live out the Life of Christ is to actually HAVE the Life of Christ resident within you. It was for this Primary Purpose that Apostle Paul said: "... Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His" Rom. 8:9b. Simply put, the Divine Nature is both experienced and expressed through the Spirit of Christ Who dwells within every Christian believer. It is the height of arrogance and foolhardiness to think that you can produce fruit for Christ without being connected to Him (Jn. 15:4-5).

One of the Greatest Desires in the Heart of the Lord God Almighty has always been to dwell within men. There was a limit to what He could achieve in the Old Testament due to the unregenerated and corrupt nature of the men He used as vessels to demonstrate His Love, Power, and Holiness. Putting it in a different way, He could influence them to a certain degree by dwelling WITH them, but He was hindered due to the fact that He couldn't actually dwell WITHIN them. This was a major reason these Old Testament saints all depend on us "that they should not be made perfect apart from us" (Heb. 11:40b). By virtue of the Sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, the Fullness of the Godhead dwells Bodily within every single Christian believer, making each of us "complete in Him, Who is the Head of all principality and power" Col. 2:10b (NKJV).

Of a Truth, Christ in us has become the Hope of our Glory since "whom He justified, these He also glorified" Rom. 8:30b (NKJV). This Reality is clearly revealed throughout the Holy Scriptures whereby the Lord God Almighty has Himself said: "I will dwell in them AND WALK AMONG THEM. I will be their God, and they shall be My people" 2Cor. 6:16b. The phrase "And walk among them" is translated from the Greek word "emparipateo" which literally means "to gallivant or walk around (as it were) aimlessly with no restrictions whatsoever." The Lord of Hosts grant us all the brokenness and contrition to grant the Spirit of Christ Free Course to roam within every aspect of our lives henceforth... Selah.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, to You alone do we ascribe all the Glory, Honour and Power. O Lord, please enable us to recognize and acknowledge Christ within us, Who is indeed the Hope of Glory in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.

Daily Prayer with Dutch Sheets - March 27, 2024 - The Humanness of Christ | Give Him 15

The Spirit of the Resurrected Christ Is in You - Bill Johnson. Bill Johnson teaches on the death and resurrection of Christ. The Spirit of the resurrected Christ lives in you, and as you surrender to the Holy Spirit and His power at work within you, you will see impossibilities bow to the name of Jesus. Jesus’ death on the Cross and His resurrection was more than enough to meet every need and provide solutions for every problem. As sons and daughters of God, grafted in through the extravagant gift of His mercy, you are called to walk in the power of the Gospel. You carry the DNA of Christ and have been commissioned to say what He is saying and do what He is doing.

Rick Warren (March-19-2024) Daily Devotional: Your Pain Can Make You More Like Christ.

“Even though Jesus was God's Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.” - Hebrews 5:8 (NLT)

Every pain in your life is an opportunity to grow in character. How do you learn love when you feel unloved? How do you learn joy in the middle of grief? How do you learn peace when everything’s in chaos? How do you learn patience when you’re not feeling patient?

You learn those qualities, with God’s grace, when you are going through pain. You have to decide if you’re going to let the pain be a stepping stone to maturity or a stumbling block to spiritual growth.

Once you make a decision to follow Jesus, God’s number one purpose in your life is to make you more like Christ. If you’re a part of God’s family, then he wants you to grow up! He helps you do that by taking you through everything Jesus went through. There were times when Jesus was lonely, frustrated, misunderstood, criticized, and in pain.

But the Bible says, “Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him” (Hebrews 5:8-9 NLT).

If Jesus was made perfect through suffering, then you are matured the same way.

There are some things you learn only through pain. In that sense, pain becomes a gift if you let it draw you closer to God in worship, closer to others in fellowship, and deeper in discipleship.

When Paul wrote to the Corinthian church, he recognized all the ways they had grown through their pain. He says in 2 Corinthians 7:11, “Isn’t it wonderful all the ways in which this distress has goaded you closer to God? You’re more alive, more concerned, more sensitive, more reverent, more human, more passionate, more responsible” (The Message).

Those seven qualities of Christlikeness are developed in you too when you ask God to use your pain to build your character. If you’ll do that, the pain won’t leave you where it found you—it will transform you!

Talk It Over

  • When you are experiencing something painful, what is usually the first thing you pray?
  • Do you want to grow spiritually through your suffering? Why or why not?
  • It can be hard to know what to pray when you're in pain. Spend a few minutes looking through Scripture to find some verses you can pray when you're in pain. You can look for verses that ask for God's help or for him to use your pain for good. If you're not sure where to look, start in the Psalms.

Victoria Osteen - Sermon: Know Who You Are in Christ.

In Genesis 1, the first thing that God says about you and me is that He created us in His image. Having His image and likeness inside of us was meant to be our source of strength and confidence.

The question is, have you allowed the enemy and things that have happened to you distort the image of God in your life? You need to get your true image back!
