Joyce Meyer (March-27-2024) Daily Devotional: The Source of True Joy.

It brings incredible joy when you embrace the truth that you are a forgiven and adored child of God. So why are so many Christians sad, frustrated, and miserable?

I believe it is because they do not understand the reality of being a child of God and the inheritance that is ours in Him. An obstacle or difficulty distracts them, and they simply forget the promises of God for their lives. This is the quickest way to live a sad life instead of a glad life.

Jesus did not die to give you a discouraged, defeated, “down” life—He is your glory and lifter of your head (see Psalm 3:3). God has given you everything you need to enjoy Him, to enjoy yourself and the life He has given you. So, look up today. Celebrate His goodness and His blessings in your life. You are a child of the King…let that fill your heart with joy!

Prayer of the Day: Thank You, Father, for helping me embrace the truth of Your love for me. I am grateful that I do not need to be distracted by obstacles or difficulties and that I can choose to be happy and filled with joy.

Joyce Meyer (March 27, 2024) Daily Devotional: A Willing Heart.

And the Lord said to Moses, Speak to the Israelites, that they take for Me an offering. From every man who gives it willingly and ungrudgingly with his heart you shall take My offering. - Exodus 25:1-2 (AMPC)

When we talk about a willing heart, we are basically talking about "want to." Without it we will never do anything.

"Want to" is a powerful thing. With it you can lose weight, keep your house clean, save money, get out of debt, or reach any other goal in life you may have set for yourself. You don't really like to face the fact that your victory or defeat has a lot to do with your "want to."

We like to blame everything on someone or something else. But you need to sit down and take a good old-fashioned inventory of your "want to." You need to be honest enough to say, "Lord, I didn't win the victory because I really didn't want to." Tonight, ask the Lord to give you plenty of "want to."

Prayer of the Day: Lord, I want to have a willing heart. I want to have a lot of “want-to.” I need Your help to meet my goals, amen.

Joyce Meyer (March-26-2024) Daily Devotional: A Divine Attitude Adjustment.

God wants us to always maintain a good attitude for two reasons. First, it glorifies Him and encourages other people to remain positive when they have problems; and second, it allows Him to work in our lives, bringing help and deliverance from our struggles.

Always having a good attitude is difficult unless we receive God’s grace to do so. Jesus said that apart from Him, we could do nothing (see John 15:5), but through Him we can do all things (see Philippians 4:13).

Don’t wait until you are tempted to have a bad attitude but pray daily that no matter what comes your way, you can endure it with a good attitude. We will always be tempted, but we can pray not to give in to the temptation.

A good attitude is one of our greatest assets. It keeps us hopeful no matter what is happening in our lives.

Prayer of the Day: Father, I trust You to grant me strength to face every difficulty I encounter. Help me keep a good attitude, filled with Your Holy Spirit, and always be thankful in every situation, amen.

Joyce Meyer (March 26, 2024) Daily Devotional: God Is Always Good.

Every good gift and every perfect (free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse]. James 1:17 (AMPC)

James tells us that God is good, period. He is not good sometimes; He is always good.

Isn’t it wonderful to have a God Who is always the same? With God there is no turning, no variation. We can depend on Him to be faithful all the time, to be merciful and forgiving all the time, to only do us good as long as we live.

If we are having a hard time, if we feel like giving up, God is still good. He is not the Author of our problems. If something bad happens to us, God is still good. He doesn’t do good things for us because we are good, and we deserve them; He does good things for us because He is good, and He loves us. We can depend on God’s goodness in our lives!

The key to happiness and fulfillment is not in changing our situation or circumstances, but in trusting God to be God in our life.

Prayer of the Day: Father, I know You are always good, no matter what is going on around me. Please help to trust You in all situations, good and bad.

Joyce Meyer (March-25-2024) Daily Devotional: A Cure for the Insecure.

In Ephesians 3:17 (AMPC) the apostle Paul writes: May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love. The Greek word for secure means "without anxiety." If you are a Christian, through Jesus, you have a right to enjoy a life without anxiety. It also means to "have full command." You can resist insecurity and not be defeated by it as you trust and rely on Jesus.

True security doesn't depend on how much money you have, your job, the way you look, how others respond to you, or even how they treat you. Security is not based on your education, your marital status, the label inside your clothing, the car you drive, or what kind of house you live in. True security is found in trusting Christ alone and knowing that you are loved and taken care of by Him.

Prayer of the Day: Father, thank You for the security I can find, only in You. Thank You for loving me and taking care of me, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Joyce Meyer (March-25-2024) Daily Devotional: Get a New Attitude

Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]…. 1 Corinthians 13:7-8 (AMPC)

There may be times in our lives when God allows us to go through serious difficulties to enable us to eventually minister to and comfort others who are suffering. If this is what God permits in our lives, then we can be assured we are able to handle it because He promises never to allow us to go through more than we can bear.

It may feel as if we're never going to overcome the challenges we're facing, but if we look back at the lives of believers in past centuries, we see that God gave them the strength to overcome the "impossible." Let's remember how David faced Goliath and take joy in defeating obstacles rather than letting them defeat us.

Prayer Starter: Father, with Your help, I believe I can do whatever I need to do in life—no matter how tough—because Christ lives in me. Thank You Jesus.

Joyce Meyer (March-24-2024) Daily Devotional: Seriously Committed.

New birth in Christ happens the instant we ask Jesus to forgive our sins and be our Savior but learning to live a new life is a process of transformation.

God doesn’t work just with our behavior; He also changes our hearts. When we seriously commit ourselves to Jesus as Savior and Lord, God begins transforming us from the inside out. He makes us like Jesus on the inside and wants to work what is in us so it shows on the outside and other people can see and experience Jesus through us.

This transformation doesn’t happen overnight and will seem very slow at times. When you are tempted to condemn yourself because you aren’t making the progress you think you should be making, remind yourself, “I’m okay and I’m on my way!” Remember that through faith you have been made right with God, and even though you have not arrived at perfection, you are making progress.

Prayer of the Day: Thank You, Father, that though I may not be where I need to be, I am okay and I am on my way, amen.
