Home Group - Prejudice in the Church—Part 1, July 17, 2017 Rick Renner

Home Group - Sermon Prejudice in the Church—Part 1, July 17, 2017 By Rick Renner Ministries. James 2:1 says, “My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.” Although James was particularly correcting a group of people who were being biased against poorer members of the assembly, prejudice can run the gamut of human existence — from people’s accents to their income to their style of dress or even their sense of fashion! Beyond just prejudice based on the color of a person’s skin, worldwide there are all kinds of biases and judgments are made based on appearances. But God says in James 2:4 that this partiality in how we view and treat people is evil. In the presence of God, no one is better than another. And in His death and resurrection, Jesus removed the “dividing wall” (see Ephesians 2:14). But what about the walls of the heart that still separate us today?

Join Rick and Denise Renner each week and participate in our online Home Group as the Renners and specially selected guests discuss rich truths from the Bible and foster an environment where members can network, ask questions, and share their own insights. Topics are prayerfully chosen with Home Group members in mind — and we want YOU to be a part!
