Steven Furtick

Steven Furtick Jr.(born February 19, 1980) is the Lead Pastor of Elevation Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the author of five books, Sun Stand Still; two New York Times bestselling releases, Greater and Crash the Chatterbox; and Unqualified and Seven Mile Miracle. Furtick was born and raised in Moncks Corner, South Carolina and attended Berkeley High School. At the age of 16, after reading the book Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala, he "felt called to pastor a church in a major city". Furtick received a B.A. in Communications from North Greenville University and a Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Furtick has seen the church grow to over 20,000 in regular attendance, currently meeting in 17 different locations, the most recent being in Charlotte, North Carolina. Elevation was cited by Outreach Magazine as one of the Top 100 fastest growing churches in the country every year since 2007.
