TD Jakes (July 26, 2025) Daily Devotional: The Power of Submission.
Romans 8:28 (NIV) - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Beloved, just because you asked for something, envisioned it, or thought it should happen, doesn't mean it's in line with God's plan for your life. If it didn't happen, it wasn't supposed to. God's timing is perfect, and His plans are far greater than our expectations. You don't have the right to be bitter with God for not doing what you thought He should do. His law is perfect, and what He has planned for you is for you.
Submission to God's will doesn't make you weak or mindless; it means you're aligning yourself with a mission greater than your own desires. Until you have a mission more important than yourself, you'll always be narcissistic, evaluating God's worth based on how He impacts you. God's ultimate goal is His mission, and He esteems nothing above His purpose.
All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Until you elevate God's mission above your own agenda, you won't experience the fullness of His blessings. Submission is not a sign of weakness; it's a sign of strength. It's a conscious decision to say, "God, I lower myself so that Your mission can be elevated."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to submit fully to Your will, trusting that Your plans are perfect. Elevate Your mission above our desires, and let us experience the fullness of Your blessings. In Jesus' name, Amen.
