TD Jakes Daily Devotional (June 24, 2025) Trusting the Father's Hand.
Scripture Reference: "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." - John 15:1-2 (NIV)
We serve a God who knows us intimately, who sees the depths of our hearts and understands the intricacies of our lives. Jesus, our Savior, connects us to the Father, helping us grasp His role in our lives. Often, God's approach may seem harsh, like a slayer wielding a knife. But trust His character when you don't understand His methods.
The husbandman, our Father, cuts us in all the right places, refining us, pruning us so we can bear more fruit. We can do nothing without Him; we cannot reach the height of our calling without His guidance. Just as only the manufacturer knows the true potential of the car he designed, God knows the depths of our potential. He built us with purpose and power, designed us to exceed our own expectations. When He pushes us out of our comfort zones, even crushes us, it's to bring out the best in us.
Jesus became human to walk in our shoes, to experience our trials and triumphs. He showed us that it can be done, that through every beating, every ridicule, every wave of love and hate, we are becoming something greater. We are becoming wine, rich and full, ready to pour out blessings to the world.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we trust Your hand even when we don't understand Your ways. Prune us and shape us to fulfill Your purpose. In Jesus' name, amen.
