Joyce Meyer (February-09-2024) Daily Devotion: Don’t Make Big Decisions in the Storm.

Life isn't one big, long sunny day. At some point, we all face storms—whether they come in the form of unexpected illness, job loss, financial crisis, marital difficulties, problems with children, or any number of other scenarios that are stressful, intense, and important. I have faced many storms in my life—some like the quick afternoon storms that are common in summertime and some that seemed like category four hurricanes. If I have learned anything about weathering the storms of life, I have learned that they don't last forever, and that if at all possible, I do not need to make major decisions in the midst of them.

When the storms of life arise, it's best to keep your mind and emotions as still as possible. Thoughts and feelings often run wild in the midst of crises, but those are exactly the times we need to be careful about making decisions. We must remain calm and discipline ourselves to focus on doing what we can do and trusting God to do what we cannot do.

Next time you face a storm or crisis in your life, I hope you'll remember these words, which I often say: "Let your emotions subside before you decide." Do your best to let things settle down before you make major decisions. You may not always have that choice, but as much as possible, put significant decisions on hold until your storm passes. Just as the wind blows about wildly during a storm, our thoughts can become quite wild and frantic, and that is not the best time to make major decisions.

Making this commitment will protect you from making quick, unwise decisions that could take you off the course God has for you.

Prayer Starter: Father, help me to not rush to make important decisions when I’m not in the right frame of mind. Thank You for your wisdom and grace to make the right choice at the right time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Morning Inspiration to Motivate Your Day - TRUST IN GOD | Peace in the Storm. God wants us to put Him first in our lives. He wants us to put our trust in Him in everything. Each day storms threaten to steal our peace. When things seem out of control, just remember God is always in control.

Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Charles Swindoll, John Hagee - TRUST IN GOD | Peace in the Storm. God wants us to put Him first in our lives. He wants us to put our trust in Him in everything. Each day storms threaten to steal our peace. When things seem out of control, just remember God is always in control.

Trusting God in the Storm of Chaos - Motivational & Inspirational Video (Jun 27, 2018). Speaker - John Hagee.

John Hagee Sermon: The Storm of Self Confidence. Pastor Hagee says there is a lack of confidence that is sweeping America and the nations of the world. We are losing confidence in ourselves and the future, bound by our own self-imposed limitations. A lack of confidence will destroy your peace, marriage, hopes, dreams…and ultimately your life. It’s time to believe in the God that believes in us.

John Hagee  Sermon: The Storm of Failure.

Pastor John Hagee tells us that life is a continuous series of storms. Storms shape us and inspire us to hold to the unchanging hand of God. When everything else is crumbling around us, God never fails. He demonstrates his absolute control as the storms of life rage around us. There is no reason to fear the storm when we are walking hand in hand with the Master; for even the winds and the waves obey him.

Steady in The Storm - TD Jakes. Scripture: Luke 8:22-26 KJV. When you go through the storm, whose voice are you listening to? In our lowest moments, we try to fix our way out, but the most important thing you can do is remain steadfast! You will not die here. The vast storm you’re facing is an indicator there’s an even greater assignment on your life. Rebuke the storm! You’re not finished — you’re coming out victorious on the other side!

Joyce Meyer (April-05-2023) Daily Devotion: Peace in the Midst of the Storm.

When life feels overwhelming, there’s only one place we can go for true, lasting peace—Jesus Christ. He is the “Prince of Peace” (see Isaiah 9:6) and the Bible says He’s our shelter in the storm. (see Isaiah 4:6).

I used to think that the way to have peace was to get rid of all my problems. It was a wonderful day when the Lord helped me realize that I could come to Him for peace in the midst of my problems.

It reminds me of the old hymn, “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.” This is what the refrain says:

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

Look full in His wonderful face;

And the things of the earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of His glory and grace.

You see, when we take our cares and worries to God and spend time with Him, we magnify Him or make Him “bigger” in our eyes. When we do, all of our problems and concerns suddenly look smaller. Compared to God, they grow dim and insignificant.

Your problems may be big, and they are not insignificant to God. But when you keep your eyes on Him, He gives you perspective.

I love Matthew 11:28 (NIV). Jesus says, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

When we “come to Him”—when we read God’s Word, sing a song of worship or just sit and tell Him how good He is—He takes all of our worry, anxiety, fear and sadness and exchanges it with His peace, joy, hope and love.

When you feel worried and anxious, I know it’s easy to panic and allow fear to take over. That’s when you need to slow down, get still and focus on Jesus. He’s always with you, available any time of the day for you to cry out to Him for His supernatural peace.

Pray: “Father, right now I take a moment to come to You. Thank You for Your amazing love and how good You have been to me. Your strength, guidance and protection make all the difference in my life. Help me to always keep my eyes focused on You and receive Your supernatural peace and comfort. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
