Bill Johnson (January-23-2020) Sermon: Be Reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20). Great message from Bill about our roles as ambassadors of Christ who have been reconciled to God and then called to reconcile others to Him. Quotes: My favorite definition of mercy and grace is mercy is when I don't get what I deserve, and grace is when I get what I don't deserve. Jesus came and faced every kind of temptation and never gave in. He became the perfect offering, a lamb undefiled with no blemish Why? Because the current cycle of sowing and reaping was going to destroy humanity. Jesus stepped in and said put the “harvest” of what they deserve on me. He took the punishment that every person ever deserved. He's not an angry father looking to destroy people. It's the law of sowing and reaping where kind produces after its own kind. That’s why Jesus came and changed that cycle. He made us a new creation and says, “You're reconciled to God, now you be a reconciler. I sowed for breakthrough, so now you can reap in breakthrough."
Bill Johnson (January-20-2020) Sermon: The Spirit Of God. “Given the invitation for God to prove who he is”
Bill Johnson (January-16-2020) Sermon: Drawing Near To God. “God's heart for communication and connection through his mysteries. Let us be curious to what He is saying and draw near”
Bill Johnson (January-13-2020) Sermon: Turning Your Weeping Into Springs (Psalm 84:5-6). Inspiring word from Bill to view our lives as a pilgrimage, a journey into discipleship to Christ and an ever-greater hunger for His presence. Even in the difficult seasons, God’s power can cause our tears that fall to the ground to reverse course and become springs to sustain us on our pilgrimage. Quotes: “Psalm 84:6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring.” Baca means weeping. As they pass through the valley of Baca they make it a spring. This is such a wonderful picture. He says you're on a pilgrimage. You go through the valley of weeping. We all know that life is full of painful circumstances. Here, they're descending into the valley, the challenges to their faith. They come into the valley of Baca but they turn it into a spring. A spring is a life-giving source, something that brings fruitfulness and blessings. This is an unusual picture. How do you take tears that drop to the ground and turn that place on the ground on that's become moist with tears into a life-giving spring? It's this wonderful prophetic picture of those whose hearts are set on His presence.
Bill Johnson (January-09-2020) Sermon: Always Pray And Not Give Up. Bill Johnson Blessed Sermons 2020 “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up” - Luke 18:1
Bill Johnson (January-08-2020) Sermon: The Masterpiece of Jesus. Great teaching from Bill on how to flourish in God’s Kingdom in the earth. He shares this analogy: You get two calls from friends who dreamed about you; he compares the dreams to paintings. He encourages us to hold each painting up against the Masterpiece of Jesus. Quotes: “We need to learn the ways, boundaries, nature, and principles of His Kingdom. If you are a diamond cutter in NYC you carry diamonds in your briefcase on a regular basis. You’d have a permit from the police to legally carry a gun. But in Mexico that permit carries no authority. The permit you have in New York doesn’t work in Mexico. Whenever you go to a different Kingdom you need to live by the rules of that Kingdom. What happens is, we want the benefit of the Kingdom of God, without living by the rules of that Kingdom. But there are laws to that Kingdom and they work differently. His Kingdom says: To truly live - you die. You receive - by giving. You’re exalted - by going low. Faith the size of a mustard seed can move the biggest obstacle on the planet!”
