Rick Warren (May-19-2023) Daily Devotional: How Integrity Blesses You.
“A righteous person lives on the basis of his integrity. Blessed are his children after he is gone.” - Proverbs 20:7 (GW)
The Bible says that God blesses those who have integrity—those who have pure hearts. As Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart” (Matthew 5:8 NIV).
So what blessings can you expect when you live your life with authenticity and a pure heart?
You’ll have the blessing of personal confidence.
When you have integrity, you become the kind of person that other people like to be around because you know who you are and where you’re going.
Proverbs 10:9 says, “People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed” (NLT).
When you don’t have integrity, it’s like walking on an icy path after a snowstorm. You’re putting every bit of your energy into trying not to fall. But when you have integrity, you’re standing on solid ground.
You’ll have the blessing of a lasting legacy.
Your greatest legacy is your integrity because it will last from generation to generation. Everything else you do gets lost. When you’re gone, your money will be divided and spent among your family. Your work will be given to somebody else. All the trophies you’ve earned will be thrown in the trash and taken to the dump.
But your character is going to influence the lives of the people around you and even the lives of the next generation. It is a lasting legacy.
The Bible says in Proverbs 20:7, “A righteous person lives on the basis of his integrity. Blessed are his children after he is gone” (GW).
You’ll have the blessing of rewards in eternity.
Matthew 25:21 says, “You are a good and loyal servant. Because you were loyal with small things, I will let you care for much greater things” (NCV).
We tend to think that rewards come from the big moments of life, when everybody is watching. But it’s the small moments that reveal real integrity. Every small word of encouragement you give this week will be rewarded in eternity. Every small act of kindness will be rewarded in eternity. Every time you reject a temptation, you will be rewarded in eternity.
Integrity is powerful. It makes a difference not just now but for eternity!
Talk It Over
- Think of a time when you should have had integrity but didn’t. How were you affected emotionally, spiritually, and physically?
- How does your integrity make a difference in the next generation?
- What small acts can you do this week that no one will notice but will demonstrate your integrity to God?
Where will you spend eternity?
The Bible says you can only get to heaven by trusting in God through his Son, Jesus Christ. You cannot earn your way into heaven: “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).
If you’re ready to commit your life to Jesus, start with this prayer:
“Dear God, you have promised that if I believe in your Son, Jesus Christ, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.
"I confess I have sinned, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died to take away my sins and that you raised him to life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow him as Lord from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen."
Charles Stanley (May-18-2023) Daily Devotional: The Blessings of Patience.
Upon reaching the destination, we sometimes realize the greater blessing came from the journey.
Galatians 6:9 - Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
It took Leo Tolstoy six years (and at least seven drafts) to write War and Peace, but his novel now stands as one of the greatest literary masterworks of all time. Ludwig van Beethoven waited even longer to bring his finest composition—Symphony No. 9—to the stage. It took a whopping three decades.
What if these men had simply given up? What if they hadn’t pushed through all the frustrations and setbacks? What if they’d listened to all the people telling them it couldn’t be done? They’d have been the poorer for it—and so would we.
Sometimes God’s promises can also feel far away and too difficult to reach. That’s why many people look for shortcuts. After all, they reason, if God makes a promise, wouldn’t He want us to attain and enjoy it as quickly as possible? Not necessarily. When we try to manipulate circumstances and “help” the Lord fulfill His promise, it’s possible for us to get in the way of the good things He has in mind for us. For this reason, we must be patient and remember that part of the blessing is the trust and wisdom gained while waiting.
Joseph Prince (May-13-2023) Daily Devotional: Blessed to Be a Blessing.
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. - Genesis 12:2
What does it mean to be an heir of the world? Let’s take a look at Abraham’s life to see what the Lord did for him. God’s Word tells us that Abraham did not just become rich. He became very rich.
“Well, Pastor Prince, being an heir of the world refers to spiritual riches.”
Hang on, that is not what my Bible says. According to Genesis 13:2, Abraham was “very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.” Now, if financial blessings are not part of the blessings of the Lord, then are you telling me that the Lord cursed Abraham with wealth?
I am so glad that God defined Abraham's riches very specifically. God must have foreseen a generation of people who would argue that He is against His people experiencing financial success, so He said clearly in His Word that Abraham was very rich in livestock, silver, and gold. Abraham wasn’t just rich spiritually.
Beloved, God is not against you having wealth, but He is definitely against wealth having you.
The Lord blessed Abraham so that he could be a blessing to others. He told Abraham, “I will bless you . . . and you shall be a blessing.” Similarly, He will bless you financially, so that you can be a blessing to others. You cannot be a blessing to those around you—your loved ones, local church, community, and the poor—if you are not blessed by the Lord first.
Now, you already know that finances alone don't make you a success. There are a lot of “poor” people in the world today who have a lot of money. They can have fat bank accounts, but their hearts are empty without the revelation of Jesus’ love for them.
You and I have something from Jesus that is far more superior. The success that we, as new covenant believers, can believe God for is good, holistic success that permeates every aspect of our lives!
What keeps you safe for financial success is when you know that your blessings come by Jesus’ unmerited favor. When you have that revelation, you will no longer be preoccupied with having money because you will be preoccupied with the Lord.
Amazingly, you will realize that the more occupied you are with Jesus, the more money follows after you! Now, why is that? It is simply because when you seek first the kingdom of God, and put Jesus, His righteousness (not your own righteousness), His joy, and His peace as your first priority, God's Word promises you that ALL the material things that you need will be added to you (Matt. 6:33).
The Lord always gives you money with a mission and prosperity with a purpose. He blesses you and when you are blessed, you can be a vessel to bless others.
The gospel of grace can be preached, churches can be built, precious lives can be touched, sinners can be born again, marriages can be restored, and physical bodies can be healed when you send out the Word of Jesus with your financial support.
Don’t love money and use people. Use money to love people. May it be settled in your heart once and for all that it is God’s desire for you to be a financial success and to have more than enough to bless others!
John Hagee - Watch Sermon: The Blessing of God's Name.
God has ordained that his supernatural blessing be passed from generation to generation through a spoken blessing given by the spiritual authority. Once this blessing is spoken it cannot be stopped by a human being. A good name is greater to be chosen than great riches. When God’s name is placed upon you, you are blessed; the blessing is recorded in heaven.
How to Be Blessed from Israel - Jentezen Franklin. This is "How to Be Blessed from Israel". Are you looking for the secret to being blessed and seeing the hand of God in your life? This week Jentezen Franklin teaches the key is to connect what you do with what God is doing. When you begin to favor what God favors and bless what He has blessed, the blessings will come pouring in. By connecting yourself, your business, your home, and your family to the nation of Israel and the city of Jerusalem, you, too, can experience the favor of God in a magnificent way. Don't miss out on this life-changing message recorded in Jerusalem in the Holy Land. By blessing what God has blessed, we are not only receiving His favor but also playing a crucial role in fulfilling His purposes on the earth.
Joel Osteen - Watch Sermon: Blessing People With Your Words.
Proverbs 18:4 says, “Your words are like life-giving water.” Besides the Bible, did you know the only words God can use to bring healing and hope to others is with your words?
Joel Osteen (March-15-2023) Daily Devotional: Spoken Blessings - Today's Inspiration Word.
Today's Scripture: Isaiah 61:1–2, NIV - The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me…to proclaim good news to the poor…to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives…to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor.
Today's Word: Words are powerful. They have the ability to set the direction for our lives. When they’re spoken over us by someone who has authority, such as a parent, a coach, or a mentor, they can determine our destiny. The reason some people aren’t reaching their potential is they’ve never had blessings spoken over them. They’ve never had anyone declare what they can become, who God says they are, and how they have seeds of greatness. In today’s Scripture, the prophet Isaiah went around declaring God’s favor, freedom, and victory. He says that all those who would receive this declaration, those who would let these words take root, would see it come to pass.
Hundreds of years later, Jesus read this same declaration to the people in the synagogue in Nazareth. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me to declare…” Jesus declares victory, abundance, healing, and freedom over you. If you receive it, He will put you on a path to greater joy, better health, stronger relationships, to new levels of your destiny.
Prayer for Today: Father, thank You that the power of Your declared blessing and favor over my life overrides any negative declarations that others have made about me. Thank You that I can receive Your favor, freedom, and victory. I believe You’re setting me on the best path for my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Bill Johnson - Watch Sermon: You Have a Mandate to Pray for God to Bless You. You have a mandate to ask God to bless you. In this sermon clip, Bill Johnson teaches from Psalm 67; a prayer for God’s blessing and favor. When God blesses you, His ways and who He is is revealed in the earth. Asking God to bless you is not selfish; it is a responsibility you have, that you may display the goodness and kindness of God, and share that with others.
