Daily Devotional (August-27-2022) MAKE A DECISION
Scripture Reference: 2 Timothy 2:3 - "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."
Christianity is not a democracy government that allows you to speak out what you feel or what you want. Christianity is not what you want it to be but it is what God says it is. We need to be serious about this and stop this excuses as in today you are a Christian tomorrow you are not. Look the world has become dangerous and it's fishing out the believers in them with temptation and challenges. The systems of this world are seriously gaining the attention of most believers and driving them away from their faith. "The world now is where all the fun is but Christianity is boring" someone said.
A Christian must face certain things in life whether good or bad because it must happen to build your faith. The Christian must endure hardness as a soldier of Jesus Christ and must also be focused on the main thing: the Lord's business. _(Matthew 6:33) "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."_ But most Christians are now deeply in search for green lands like Lot. _(Genesis 13:10-11) "And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where,...Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east..."_ Lot chose for himself, he made his own decision and went his way. Later it Landed him in trouble.
Don't become like brother Lot in this our Christian walk because it pays to wait on God. Join the team that seek God's purpose. Join those who are Christ like minded because being in such companies will rather build your faith and help you grow in Christ. From today make it your decision to stand firm for the course of God; stand strong for Jesus; stand up for Jesus.
Prayer - Father in the Name of Jesus, today I take a stand; I stand for the Name of Jesus. Thank You for your Word which is my light and direction, I'm too big for the world to control my mind in the Name of Jesus.
Joel Osteen (April-26-2022) Daily Devotion: Make Wise Decisions.
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: The Israelites examined their food, but they did not consult the LORD. Joshua 9:14, NLT
TODAY'S WORD: Joshua and the Israelites had just defeated Jericho miraculously. God’s favor was on them. A group of people, who lived nearby, knowing they also would be destroyed, came up with an elaborate plan to deceive Joshua into believing they were from a distant land and make a peace treaty with them, which God had forbidden. It was a persuasive deception on the surface, and it became a big headache that could have been avoided if Joshua had consulted the Lord.
That’s why you need to consult with the Lord before you get involved with people, before you sign that contract, before you put the money down. People show you one side, but God can see the whole package. You’re not going to make the best decisions if you’re not consulting with God. He will protect you from making mistakes, open the right doors, bring the right people, and take you to the fullness of your destiny.
PRAYER FOR TODAY: “Father, thank You for all the ways You have protected me from harm and mistakes. Thank You that You haven’t left me on my own to work out my destiny. I will choose to consult You for wisdom and guidance in my decisions. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
