E. Making your responsibility as a father the first claim on your time
Jentezen Franklin (December-02-2022) Daily Devotional: You represent your Father.
“His heart went out to him.” Lk 15:20 PHPS
When the father saw his prodigal son, “his heart went out to him.” Jack Graham writes: “This isn’t a father who can’t wait to punish his sinful son…who has written him off as wasted and worthless. This is a loving, caring father who can’t wait to embrace and welcome him. He runs down the road to meet him…What you see…is a picture of the Father’s love for you…eager…excessive… approachable…abundant.” Max Lucado adds: “The tale involves a wealthy father and a willful son [who]…takes his inheritance [to] Las Vegas and…wastes [it] on slot machines and call girls…Broke [and] too proud to go home, he gets a job sweeping…stables at the racetrack. When he finds himself…[eating]…their oats, he realizes enough is enough…Off he goes, rehearsing his repentance speech…But…‘When he was…a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion’ [v. 20 NKJV]…We expect crossed arms…a furrowed brow…a guarded handshake…a stern lecture…Instead [the father said], ‘Bring out the best robe…a ring…sandals…and…the fatted calf’ [vv. 22-23 NKJV].” The ring symbolized delegated authority. The one who wore it carried on business in the name of the one who gave it. Would you have given this prodigal the power of attorney over your matters? Entrusted him with your credit card? When you came to God, you were given authority to conduct business in His name. When you speak truth, you’re His ambassador (See 2Co 5:20).
As you steward finances He gives, you’re His business manager. When you proclaim forgiveness, you’re His priest. He has given you the privilege to do for others what He does for you. Don’t withhold encouragement or affirmation! Speak words that strengthen others. Why? Because you represent your Father!
Charles Stanley (November-11-2022) Daily Devotional: Our Heavenly Father.
God is a perfect Father, whose love and care for us are constant.
Matthew 6:9-13 - ``Pray, then, in this way: `Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
`Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
`Give us this day our daily bread.
`And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
`And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [ For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.']
John Hagee - Honor Your Father And Mother: The Commandment with a Promise. The fifth commandment comes with a promise… “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land…” The future of America depends upon the preservation of the family. We must diligently teach the Bible to our children and bring God back to America! God’s blueprint for the family is under attack. If we do not honor our parents, our country will not endure. What is a family? Is there a family in your house?
THE GREATEST PROMISE OF THE FATHER - Daily Devotional (May-06-2022)
Scripture Reference: John 16:13 - "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."
The greatest promise of the Father is the Holy Spirit and this promise came to pass when Jesus went to Heaven to be with the Father.
"Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit." (1 John 4:13)_ The Father has given us the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is not only present with you as a person; He also is sent to help the Christian in everything. You cannot say you believe in Jesus without the Holy Spirit and you can't pray even to the Father without Him. The Bible calls Him the Spirit of truth and the amazing thing is that He is already here with us.
You are born again by the Spirit because He bears witness with your spirit: Meaning you have a witness in your spirit that you are born again. The Bible said "my sheep hears my voice" and the shepherd have a unique way of communicating with it's sheeps. You need the Spirit of God to add beauty to your life and to guide you in to excellence.
The Holy Spirit is a gentleman who respect and is always ready to be of help to you as and when you need that help. Without Him you can't have faith in anything, without Him you can't even pray. Infact you don't know what is needful to pray about. _"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."(Romans 8:26)_
He constantly makes the presence of Jesus Christ real to us and makes fellowship possible. He makes Christianity so real.
The Holy Spirit is ready to guide you into all truth. He wants to show you the more sure way to a life of victory. Don't focuse on the challenges because it will distract you but put your focus in Him and He will guide you. He wants to show you things to come; the future. Are you asking a lot of questions about the future or what the future holds? Just pay attention to the Holy Spirit. He is the colour of Heaven. The most important thing about Him is that He needs your attention to help you.
PRAYER - Thank you Heavenly Father for the Holy Spirit who is my guide and direction, I accept the ministry of the Holy Spirit in my life and I confess that He is my shepherd and my strength everyday. I'm not confused about my future because He's with me in to guide. My life is now a testimony in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.
