THE GREATEST PROMISE OF THE FATHER - Daily Devotional (May-06-2022)

Scripture Reference: John 16:13 - "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."

The greatest promise of the Father is the Holy Spirit and this promise came to pass when Jesus went to Heaven to be with the Father.

"Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit." (1 John 4:13)_ The Father has given us the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is not only present with you as a person; He also is sent to help the Christian in everything. You cannot say you believe in Jesus without the Holy Spirit and you can't pray even to the Father without Him. The Bible calls Him the Spirit of truth and the amazing thing is that He is already here with us.

You are born again by the Spirit because He bears witness with your spirit: Meaning you have a witness in your spirit that you are born again. The Bible said "my sheep hears my voice" and the shepherd have a unique way of communicating with it's sheeps. You need the Spirit of God to add beauty to your life and to guide you in to excellence.

The Holy Spirit is a gentleman who respect and is always ready to be of help to you as and when you need that help. Without Him you can't have faith in anything, without Him you can't even pray. Infact you don't know what is needful to pray about. _"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."(Romans 8:26)_

He constantly makes the presence of Jesus Christ real to us and makes fellowship possible. He makes Christianity so real.

The Holy Spirit is ready to guide you into all truth. He wants to show you the more sure way to a life of victory. Don't focuse on the challenges because it will distract you but put your focus in Him and He will guide you. He wants to show you things to come; the future. Are you asking a lot of questions about the future or what the future holds? Just pay attention to the Holy Spirit. He is the colour of Heaven. The most important thing about Him is that He needs your attention to help you.

PRAYER - Thank you Heavenly Father for the Holy Spirit who is my guide and direction, I accept the ministry of the Holy Spirit in my life and I confess that He is my shepherd and my strength everyday. I'm not confused about my future because He's with me in to guide. My life is now a testimony in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.

Daily Devotional (March-13-2022) The Unlimited Love of the Father

Scripture Reference: Luke 15: 31-32 (NLT) - “His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!’”

Someone thought they would help Jesus and called the story based on today’s verse, “The Parable of the Prodigal Son.” Now true, it is about a son leaving home, but it would be more appropriate to call it, “The Parable of the Loving Father.” The story is about a father who had two sons, one irresponsible and one responsible when it came to the matters of the farm. It would have been easy to disown the son who left and enjoy the pleasure of the son who stayed behind. But that isn’t how love works. Dr. David Benner in his book, “Surrender To Love,” gives great insight into the Father’s love. He writes, “The Father’s love reflects the Father’s character, not the children’s behavior. My behavior – whether responsible or irresponsible – is beside the point. Responsible behavior does not increase the Father’s love, nor does irresponsible behavior decrease it.” The prodigal son returns home and the father is beside himself with pure unadulterated joy. This wasn’t a time for rebuke. It was not the time to test the son’s sincerity. The son’s behavior and consequences could be dwelt with later. It was time to lavish love on his lost son. But the other brother did not understand. The saddest part of the story is that the son who stayed home had every opportunity to bask in his father’s love. But he took the Father’s love for granted. Both boys missed their father’s love. One returned home to receive it. The other had it all the while and ignored it. Which are you? Are you far from God’s love today? Return to him. Have you taken His love for granted? Return to Him today; draw close to the love that God the Father has for you.

Prayer - Father, I thank You for Your love for me. Forgive me for the times I take Your love for granted. Forgive me for the times I have taken advantage of Your love and rebelled. Help me today live in the knowledge that You love me unconditionally. AMEN

Joseph Prince (December-13-2021) Daily Devotional: Delighting the Father

To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. - Ephesians 1:6

Today’s scripture tells us it is by God’s unearned, undeserved, and unmerited favor that we have been made accepted in the Beloved—Jesus. This is true for every believer. If you are a believer, then by God’s grace, you are accepted in the Beloved.

The Greek word for “accepted” here is charitoo, which means “highly favored.” Our Father in heaven wants you to know that you are charitoo, that is, highly favored in the Beloved. Charitoo also means to “compass with favor.” In other words, we are surrounded with favor. This is our position in Christ: highly favored and surrounded by favor by the glory of His grace!

Now let me show you another scripture, which says, “Wherefore we labor, that . . . we may be accepted of him” (2 Cor. 5:9 KJV). We have just established that by God’s grace, we are accepted in the Beloved without labor. So what does this scripture mean?

The word “accepted” here is not the Greek word charitoo. It is another Greek word, euarestos, which means “well pleasing.” Hence the New King James translation says, “Therefore we make it our aim . . . to be well pleasing to Him.”

Now, euarestos is not about your position in Christ. Euarestos (in 2 Cor. 5:9) refers to something that you do that brings your Father in heaven great delight and joy. In Christ the Beloved, we are already highly favored, but there are things that we can do to glorify and be extra pleasing to our Father in heaven.

Let me illustrate my point: Our children Jessica and Justin are always highly favored in Wendy’s and my hearts. There is nothing they can ever do to change that position. It is a position anchored on their identity as our children. Yet there are times when they do something special for us that brings us great delight and touches our hearts.

In those moments, not only are they highly favored, they are also extra well pleasing to us. Do they have to do those special things to earn our love? Absolutely not! They are already loved and highly favored in our hearts. In fact, their desire to do something special for us stems from their having confidence in our love for them. They desire to please us because they know just how much we already love them.

It is the same in our relationship with our heavenly Father. When we know how much we are loved and are established in His grace, we want to do good works to bring delight to Him. The apostle Paul, who was zealous for the gospel and good works, said, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me” (1 Cor. 15:10).

Paul, who had a revelation of God’s grace, didn’t become a lazy, passive Christian. On the contrary, he worked harder than all the other apostles for the gospel’s sake, and he attributed all his ministry success to God’s grace in his life. That, my friend, is euarestos (well-pleasing good works) in action.

Everything we do today must flow from the lavish supply of God’s grace. Our giving has to be out of His grace. Our serving has to be out of His grace. When His grace is our delight, we can’t help but labor more abundantly and bring delight to our Father’s heart!

Daily Devotional (October-26-2021) THE MYSTERY OF OUR UNION WITH THE FATHER

Scripture Reference: John 4:23-24 - "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

There was a great conversation between a woman and Jesus Christ, which opens our understanding to a great mystery about worship with the Father. When you start reading from verse 21 down in our opening scripture:

Jesus spoke to the woman with authority, for her to believe because soon she will not worship the Father either on any mountain or at Jerusalem. Meaning worship is taking a new shape; it's moving from a "place" to another level.

He told them that people from Samaria do not really know what they worship. But they (the Jews) do know what they worship. Even the way that God has made to save people comes from the Jews. He told them that true worship comes after one is saved: animals and trees don't receive salvation but humans. Worship is not singing but worship is spirit to spirit. Worship is a unique union with the Father.

Jesus told the woman that soon, people will really worship the Father. In their earlier conversation the woman was talking about worshiping God but Jesus proved that in worship we relate to Him as our Father. Really, it is that time already. Those people who really want to worship the Father will worship Him from their spirits. The Father looks for people who will worship Him like that. When God talking about family relationship, men are busily looking for religion.

God is spirit. Those people who worship Him must worship from their spirits. Renew your mind and repent because God the Father is longing for such worship; a union which is not necessarily our physical songs and a place but a union that comes from a consciousness of understanding.

Prayer - Dear Father in heaven, thank you for your Word, thank you for sending Jesus Christ for me and those you have given me. My life is now a life of worship and all that is around and in me will worship you with our understanding in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Rick Warren (October-08-2021) Daily Devotional: Get to Know God as Father

“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.'" Matthew 6:9 (NIV)

In the Old Testament, God is called “Father” only seven times. People just didn’t think of God as Father. They thought of him as Creator, Almighty One, God of Israel, and so on.

Then Jesus came along and said this is how people should pray: Call him “Father.” Jesus uses the expression more than 150 times when he refers to God.

In calling God “Father,” Jesus shattered stereotypes of God. God is not an angry tyrant, the universal killjoy, or an impersonal force. Instead, he is a personal God, and he created you with the ability to have a relationship with him. That’s what he wants more than anything else.

There’s only one problem. For many people, the word “father” is a negative term; it brings up all kinds of bad memories. A lot of people say, “‘Our Father in heaven’? If God’s like my father, then no thanks.”

The truth is, while many people have wonderful fathers, other fathers are fickle, moody, abusive, controlling, and violent. Saying “our Father in heaven” can carry painful baggage.

Many people unconsciously think God is like their earthly father. This may not be a problem if their father was kind, wise, and loving. But if their father was unreasonable, they think God is unreasonable. If he was unreliable, that must mean God is unreliable. If they have a hard time connecting with their father, they assume they’ll have a hard time connecting with God.

When you project your hurts and emotions onto God, it’s no wonder you have a hard time connecting with him. Misconceptions will keep you disconnected from God.

Instead, let go of misconceptions and myths so you can understand the truth about God the Father. He loves you, and he’s with you and for you! You’ll find that truth will set you free—free to know God and to love him!

Talk It Over

  • In what ways have earthly fathers helped you understand God? In what ways have they hindered your relationship with God?
  • In what ways do you relate well to your earthly father, or to a father figure in your life? Do you identify with God in the same ways?
  • How can you set aside your own misconceptions about fathers and get to know who God the Father really is?

Popular sermons online

As the concept suggests, a preacher is one who practices the art of preaching. The word "preaching" is originally associated with the religious sphere of activity. Language researchers note that of all religious texts, this word - like the type of activity itself - is most closely associated with Christianity. Preachers teach Bible truths when speaking to believers or unbelievers.

Most of the Bible's sermons are in the New Testament. The sermon, as we find it in the Book of Acts and the Epistles, is expressive, but at the same time brief. It is built on the fundamental truths of Christianity: the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The preaching of the Church, in whatever form it is delivered - be it an ardent call to repentance for sins and salvation or the gospel story of a relationship with God and people - is by nature Christocentric.

Christian online preaching isn’t just a statement of spiritual truths, but as a sacred act, during which the preacher, in cooperation with the Lord the Holy Spirit, accomplishes the work of salvation for unbelieving listeners and the process of spiritual growth for the saved. Words spoken by a person cannot strengthen faith, but the biblical sermon in the mouths of preachers has a special power that can transform a person's soul. It is on this supernatural power of preaching that the preacher's authority is established.

Despite the fact that the evangelical Church teaches about the priesthood of every born-again Christian, in the work of biblical preaching, special attention is paid to the character and moral character of the preacher. The moral right to proclaim eternal biblical truths, to preach the Gospel from the pulpit or in another setting on behalf of the Church, can not only be those who know these truths, but who have Christian virtues, a character that reflects Christ. We are talking about a person who sincerely loves God and the people to whom he addresses, deeply interested in the eternal and earthly well-being of his listeners. A person with the good name of a Christian, who has a "good testimony" confirmed by time and the Church. Since we are talking about eternal, enduring truths, the writing of which was inspired by the holy God, proclaim them on behalf of the Author, i.e. of God Himself, it is permissible for the one who knows Him personally, has constant communion with Him and obeys Him implicitly. From the point of view of the essence and basis of the message that he proclaims, the preacher is not the author of his message and therefore doesn’t have the right to change the truths being proclaimed. He represents the interests and fulfills the will of the One who authorized him for this with the authority of His glorious name, and, therefore, the preacher is obliged to accurately convey to his audience what was entrusted to him by God. Freely interpreting Scripture and presenting to the audience their own interpretation of eternal biblical truths, posing as God's revelation on behalf of God, is not only a distortion of the truth, but also an ethical violation that entails consequences. However, in the sermon, it is not forbidden to mention personal experience, as well as the experience of other people, examples from various areas of public life to the extent that these examples correspond to the truth and contribute to a more accurate and understandable message of it.

Of course, in the modern world, taking into account the development of communications, a preacher is expected to possess the skills of oratory. This is not a strict requirement, but it is always encouraged, as it is an undeniable advantage and serves the greater benefit and success of the preaching work.

There are many preachers in modern Christianity who have achieved recognized success in the preaching work.
