Bishop TD Jakes - In Between Fights - Sunday Sermon. Like Saul, you might be surprised that God chose you, a misfit, to be His messenger. It’s not because your past was perfect — it’s because there’s an anointing on your life! Sometimes, we can go full-steam-ahead on routes that we made up to destinations that we created. But all of that changes immediately when we have a divine encounter with God. As you make your way from where you’ve been to where He’s taking you, be sure to listen to your corner and make your life count in between fights!
Jentezen Franklin (October-15-2022) Daily Devotional: Flee, fight, or forgive
“Having loved His own…He loved them to the end.” Jn 13:1 NKJV
We handle our relationship problems in one of three ways: flee, fight, or forgive. Some choose to flee. They leave the relationship and start again elsewhere, though they are frequently surprised when the condition resurfaces on the other side of the fence as well. Others fight. As a result, their relationships become combat zones, and stress becomes a way of life. If you’re wise, you will choose the way of Christ: “Having loved His own…He loved them to the end.” Jesus knew the feeling of being stuck with someone. For over three years, He ran with the same team.
He saw the same twelve or so faces around the table. So how did He stay so dedicated to His disciples? Was it difficult for Jesus to love Peter, knowing he would someday curse Him? Was it tough to trust Thomas, knowing he would someday question His resurrection? How did Jesus resist the urge to recruit a new group of followers? John wanted to crush one enemy, and Peter sliced off the ear of another. Only days before Jesus’ death, His disciples were fighting about which of them was the best! How was He able to love people who were difficult to like? Here is the answer: Jesus didn’t measure them by their looks, IQ, talent, possessions, or personality; no, He measured them by their potential. And ultimately, they changed and lived up to His expectations. Not in all things or at all times. But when that happened, He forgave them and taught them that love is a commitment we make first to ourselves, and then to others.
To Rest or to Fight? - Bill Johnson. How do you know if you are supposed to fight and contend for a miracle, or rest and trust in God’s promises in the situation you are facing? Bill Johnson teaches from Luke 18 and Matthew 11 on two seemingly contradictory scriptures. There are seasons for contending, and seasons for resting in God’s Promises. We’ve been invited into a relational journey, and instead of being given a formula for life, we have been given the Holy Spirit to lead us personally through every season. This is an excerpt from Bill's message “Rewards and Motives”, originally preached in 2018.
Joel Osteen (November-12-2021) Today's Word: The Fight for Your Future.
Today's Scripture: I will exalt you, LORD, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me. Psalm 30:1, NLT
Have you ever wondered, “Why are all these unfair setbacks and difficulties coming against me? Why all the opposition?” It’s because when you gave your life to Christ, God said, “You’re mine.” When He put a crown of favor on your head, you became a target to the enemy. He knows God has destined you to take new ground, so he’s working overtime to try to stop you. Those bad breaks weren’t random; those were strategic attacks. The enemy wouldn’t waste his time bringing those challenges if he didn’t know there was greatness in you.
You need to know that there is a fight for your future, but it’s not your battle. God is fighting for you. The enemy may send opposition that looks too big, but God triumphs over every negative force. Those setbacks and difficulties that are trying to keep you from your destiny, God is speaking to them right now. Breakthroughs are coming, healing is coming, freedom is coming, victory is coming. The greatness in you is about to come out.
A Prayer for Today: “Father, thank You for every time You have rescued me and refused to let the enemy triumph over me. Thank You that my future is safely in Your hands, and You are fighting for me. I believe that the setbacks and difficulties are about to give way to breakthroughs and victory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Joel Osteen (August-23-2020) Daily Devotion: Join the Fight for Freedom.
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Don’t you realize that the Philistines already bully and lord it over us? So what’s going on with you, making things even worse? Judges 15:11, MSG
TODAY'S WORD: The Philistines had ruled over the people of Judah for forty years when God raised up Samson with supernatural strength to deliver them. But when Samson struck against the Philistines, they threatened Judah, whose leaders were so comfortable with living in mediocrity and dysfunction that they turned against Samson rather than rise up and join him in the fight for freedom.
How many times is God sending us a Samson but we think like the Israelites. “I’ve had this addiction, this debt, this anger issue for so long.” As long as you accept the negative thing as just the way it is, even though God sends you a way to break free, you’ll talk yourself out of it. This is a new day. God has called you to be a Samson. He has put a supernatural strength on you to break the chains and barriers that have held you back. You’ve been equipped; you’re empowered. You can do it through Christ who strengthens you!
PRAYER FOR TODAY: Father, thank You for sending Your great deliverer, Christ Jesus, who is far more powerful than a Samson. Thank You for breaking the powers of the enemies that have held me in bondage for so long. I will walk in freedom today through Christ who strengthens me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
