Joyce Meyer (December-25-2022) Christmas Daily Devotional: The Most Amazing Gift.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, let us remember what an amazing gift God has given to us and what a sacrifice it must have been for Him. Then let us be willing to also give sacrificially to help others not only find Christ, but also learn to live the large, free, and full life that He has provided.

There are many ways in which we can give. We can pray, serve, give time, money, encouragement, and help. Our tradition is to give at Christmastime on a broader scale than we do at other times of the year, but I don’t believe it should be that way. I believe we should make every day an opportunity to give to others. Someone said, “We make a living by getting, but we make a life by giving.”

I wasted many years living selfishly, and all it did was bring me unhappiness and a narrow life filled only with myself. I have learned to love giving and I find that it enlarges my life in ways that are amazing. I am happier, healthier, more energetic, and have the satisfaction of personal fulfillment. I don’t feel that I am wasting my life on things that don’t matter, but instead I believe that I am investing in eternity.

If you feel you need a change, this just might be the change you are searching for. Jesus said to forget yourself and take up your cross and follow Him (see Mark 8:34). I know it sounds like a frightening thing to do, but if you take the leap of faith, it will be the most rewarding thing you have ever done.

Prayer of the Day: Father, thank You for the gift of Jesus and for the sacrifice You made in giving Him to me. Help me not to be afraid to live a life of sacrifice in order to help others as You have helped me.

Joyce Meyer (December-24-2022) Daily Devotional: The Gift of Jesus.

Today is Christmas Eve, and in a few hours my entire family will descend on our home with great enthusiasm. Today we give gifts to the people we love. Why do we celebrate Jesus’ birth with gifts? We do it because He is the greatest gift that has ever been given to mankind. When the wise men heard of Jesus’ birth, they went to worship Him with gifts, and it is our privilege to do the same.

I urge you not to lose sight today and tomorrow of what the holiday is truly about as you celebrate this blessed season. Don’t get so busy cooking, preparing, shopping, and giving gifts to others that you forget the reason for the season.

Thank God for the gift of Jesus and take time to thank Him for all He has done and continues to do in your life. As you give gifts to others, keep in mind that you are celebrating the greatest gift of all—Jesus!

Prayer of the Day: Father, thank You for the gift of Jesus. We celebrate today as a way of saying “Thank You” for giving us the greatest gift ever given.

Good Things Come in Small Packages - TD Jakes Sunday Sermon | December-25-2022. Scripture: Acts 9:8-21 (KJV) During the holiday season, we get excited about the big gifts, but we should never underestimate what comes in small packages. As we celebrate the Ultimate Gift, Jesus Christ, we can’t talk about the harvest of His sacrifice without acknowledging what God gave us in seed form. Jesus was man enough to become a child, but glorious enough to be our Heavenly Father. Be careful about who or what you easily overlook; remember, God is not in the big things, He’s in the small stuff!

Jentezen Franklin (November-05-2022) Daily Devotional: Use your gift.

“God has given each of you a gift.” 1 Pet 4:10 NLT

The Bible says: “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety…Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God” (vv. 10-11 NLT). You may not be fortunate enough to work at a job that utilizes your gifts, but you should at least be moving in that direction. Paul worked as a tentmaker to finance his calling as a preacher. So if you know you’re a creative person with aptitude for design and visual arts, and you’re currently exasperated by your accounting job, it may be time to reconsider your career goals. If you like to solve problems and enjoy information technology, but you’re currently working as a pastry chef, it’s time to step back and reassess.

You may not be able to make a living using your foremost gifts right away, and have to work in an unrelated field for awhile. That’s okay, but your sights must stay set on following God’s calling. Moses spent two-thirds of his life getting ready for his real assignment leading the children of Israel into the promised land. God never wastes experience. Often the wisdom you glean from a job you don’t want equips you to succeed in the one you do; the one God has chosen for you. So keep growing and keep believing God. Then, when He opens the door, you will be ready to walk through it.

Joel Osteen (March-18-2022) Daily Devotional: Don’t Discount Your Gift

Today’s Scripture: Matthew 25:23, NLT - The master said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!"

Today’s Word: In the parable of the talents that Jesus told in Matthew 25, the owner gave one man one talent, another man two talents, and another man five talents. It seems like if God was fair, He would've given them all the same number, but God is sovereign. He might give you five talents and give me two talents. He's God. I can complain about the two, try to compete with you and outperform you, but you still have five and I have two. A better approach is to say, "God, I'm not going to try to be someone who I'm not. I'm going to take these two talents and be the best I can be."

Don't discount the gift God has put in you. Compared to others, it may feel insignificant to you, but there is nothing ordinary about you. You may not have what someone else has, but God has put greatness in you. If you faithfully develop the gift you have, that gift will open doors to places you've never dreamed.

Prayer for Today: Father, thank You that You are sovereign in the gift and the calling You have given me. Thank You that the gift and creativity and dreams You have given me are all I need to make my mark on this generation. I will celebrate and develop all that You have given me. In Jesus' Name, Amen

Charles Stanley (December-25-2022) Daily Devotional: The Greatest Gift

The greatest gift ever given was the sacrifice of Jesus, and all we must do is accept this free gift to live in joy forever with Him.

John 3:14-21 - ``As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. ``For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. ``For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. ``He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ``This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. ``For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. ``But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."

Even children understand that unless a present is opened and explored, its value will remain unknown. Yet many people don’t “unwrap” God’s gift of salvation through Jesus. So they don’t get to enjoy the treasures He bestows on His children.

When God the Son came to earth, He took on human flesh—a mystery known as the incarnation. Jesus was fully God and lived a sinless life, yet He was also fully human. Without Christ, our sin would eternally separate us from God. So the Savior took our iniquities upon Himself, enduring the death penalty in our place, and then He rose from the dead. In doing this, Jesus redeemed us and opened the door for eternal fellowship with the Father.

Jesus’ sacrifice means that any who so choose can accept mercy instead of punishment. It is God’s free gift, which includes an eternal home in heaven. We will live forever with Christians from every nation and generation, and we’ll reunite with loved ones who have already died in the Lord.

Do you have a relationship with almighty God? Admit your need for forgiveness, and ask Christ to be your Savior. The gift is wrapped and ready, waiting for you to open and enjoy all God has given.

Popular sermons online

As the concept suggests, a preacher is one who practices the art of preaching. The word "preaching" is originally associated with the religious sphere of activity. Language researchers note that of all religious texts, this word - like the type of activity itself - is most closely associated with Christianity. Preachers teach Bible truths when speaking to believers or unbelievers.

Most of the Bible's sermons are in the New Testament. The sermon, as we find it in the Book of Acts and the Epistles, is expressive, but at the same time brief. It is built on the fundamental truths of Christianity: the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The preaching of the Church, in whatever form it is delivered - be it an ardent call to repentance for sins and salvation or the gospel story of a relationship with God and people - is by nature Christocentric.

Christian online preaching isn’t just a statement of spiritual truths, but as a sacred act, during which the preacher, in cooperation with the Lord the Holy Spirit, accomplishes the work of salvation for unbelieving listeners and the process of spiritual growth for the saved. Words spoken by a person cannot strengthen faith, but the biblical sermon in the mouths of preachers has a special power that can transform a person's soul. It is on this supernatural power of preaching that the preacher's authority is established.

Despite the fact that the evangelical Church teaches about the priesthood of every born-again Christian, in the work of biblical preaching, special attention is paid to the character and moral character of the preacher. The moral right to proclaim eternal biblical truths, to preach the Gospel from the pulpit or in another setting on behalf of the Church, can not only be those who know these truths, but who have Christian virtues, a character that reflects Christ. We are talking about a person who sincerely loves God and the people to whom he addresses, deeply interested in the eternal and earthly well-being of his listeners. A person with the good name of a Christian, who has a "good testimony" confirmed by time and the Church. Since we are talking about eternal, enduring truths, the writing of which was inspired by the holy God, proclaim them on behalf of the Author, i.e. of God Himself, it is permissible for the one who knows Him personally, has constant communion with Him and obeys Him implicitly. From the point of view of the essence and basis of the message that he proclaims, the preacher is not the author of his message and therefore doesn’t have the right to change the truths being proclaimed. He represents the interests and fulfills the will of the One who authorized him for this with the authority of His glorious name, and, therefore, the preacher is obliged to accurately convey to his audience what was entrusted to him by God. Freely interpreting Scripture and presenting to the audience their own interpretation of eternal biblical truths, posing as God's revelation on behalf of God, is not only a distortion of the truth, but also an ethical violation that entails consequences. However, in the sermon, it is not forbidden to mention personal experience, as well as the experience of other people, examples from various areas of public life to the extent that these examples correspond to the truth and contribute to a more accurate and understandable message of it.

Of course, in the modern world, taking into account the development of communications, a preacher is expected to possess the skills of oratory. This is not a strict requirement, but it is always encouraged, as it is an undeniable advantage and serves the greater benefit and success of the preaching work.

There are many preachers in modern Christianity who have achieved recognized success in the preaching work.
