Jentezen Franklin (March-30-2023) Daily Devotional: Refuse to live in fear (4).
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” Rom 8:31 NKJV
To overcome fear, you must believe that God is with you. It’s the key to your ability to obey what He tells you to do. As you become confident that He is with you, your fear will lessen. When David volunteered to fight Goliath, King Saul said to him, “You are not able to go against this Philistine…for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth” (1Sa 17:33 NKJV). David replied, “The Lord…will deliver me from…this Philistine” (v. 37 NKJV). You’re not in this battle alone; the Lord is with you. When you’re convinced of that, your fear will subside. You may not always know what God will do, but you can relax in knowing He will do what needs to be done at the right time. When you think about the future and all the things that are unknown to you, it’s easy to feel afraid. But you can view it two ways. You can either be pessimistic and fearful, or you can say to yourself, “The battle is the Lord’s, and He has never lost a battle!” You may not always know what to do in a tense situation, but God does. He knows everything prior to it happening, and He has planned your deliverance in advance. Just put one foot in front of the other, confident that He is guiding you. You don’t have to see God or feel Him in order to believe that He is with you. Faith is a matter of the heart instead of the natural senses. God is with you! Believe it and refuse to live in fear.

Joyce Meyer (August-29-2021) Daily Devotional: Live for God
Every person, with no exception, will one day stand before God and give an account of his life (see Rom. 14:12). I want to encourage you to remember Jesus will come for us when we least expect it, and then it will be too late to do all the things we intended to do but never got around to.
Salvation is a gift of God; He extends it to us because of His grace, and we receive it by faith. We do not get into heaven because of good works, but today's verse teaches us that our works will be judged and rewarded according to what we have merited.
God sees what we do in secret and will reward us openly. Everything that is now done behind closed doors will one day be brought out into the open, so we should realize that nothing can be hidden forever. A day of reckoning will come.
Some people might think, Well, as long as I am going to heaven, that is enough? Simply hoping to get to heaven after death is a selfish motive that produces a selfish life. We should live for God and for His glory. We should love God with all our hearts in response to His great love for us and realize that we are alive for a purpose, and part of that purpose is for God to use us to help reconcile others to Him.
We are actually created for good works that God prepared for us ahead of time (See Ephesians 2:10). God's desire and will is that we do those good works, but do them because He loves us, not to get Him to love us or to impress people.
Prayer Starter: Father, I want to live only for You. Guide me in the way I should go, that I might do good in Your sight and be a blessing to others. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Joyce Meyer (October-26-2022) Daily Devotion: A New Way to Live.
When you become a Christian by receiving Jesus as your Savior, He actually comes to live inside you by His Spirit, and you can be led by His Spirit throughout your life. You no longer have to feel you must follow religious rules and regulations, thinking you can please God by doing everything “right.” The Holy Spirit will guide you into God’s plans for your life, which are better than anything you could plan for yourself. This is truly a new way of living—a way of love, peace, freedom, fulfillment, and joy. You can begin it today, and it’s a journey you will be on for the rest of your life.
Anytime you try to do anything new, you have to learn how to do it. That’s also true with a new way of living. Some of what you learn may seem unusual because it’s different than anything you’ve done before, and it’s usually the complete opposite of what this world teaches us. For example, in God’s new way of living, people who try to be first end up last, while those who put themselves last end up first (see Matthew 20:16). If someone wants one thing from us, we can give them even more (see Matthew 5:40), and instead of holding grudges against people who’ve hurt us, we’re empowered to forgive them (see Matthew 18:21–22).
Jesus’ teaching to forgive those who use, abuse, or wound us—and then to go even further and actually love and bless them (see Luke 6:27–28)—was a difficult one for me. It meant forgiving my father for sexually abusing me and forgiving my mother, who knew about it and ignored it, choosing instead to treat me as though I were the one doing something wrong. Forgiving them seemed totally unreasonable to me. It took a long time for me to be willing to do that, but when I finally did (only by God’s grace), it set me free to move forward and heal. I urge you to forgive anyone that you have anything against.
Learning to forgive is only one of many lessons God has taught me about His way of living (which is why I say it’s a lifetime journey), and it’s one I’m still learning. I want you to know that every path the Holy Spirit has led me to take on this new way has always brought me to a better place than I was before, and He will never ask you to do anything difficult unless it’ll lead you into something greater.
Because the new way isn’t always easy, you might be tempted at times to fall back into your old ways, which is totally normal. But if you’ll resist that temptation and ask God to help you press on in His new way of living, your life will become better and ultimately easier than you ever thought possible.
Prayer Starter: Father, please help me keep going in this new way of life that You have for me. Thank You for making a way for me to heal and move forward into more and more freedom. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Joel Osteen (April-21-2022) Daily Devotion: Live in Freedom.
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17, NIV
TODAY'S WORD: If you’re always thinking about something negative that happened yesterday, last month, last year, there’s no freedom there. That’s where the Spirit of the Lord was. This is a new day. Quit living in what was and come over into what is. Right now there is freedom, joy, peace, and restoration for you. Right now there are new beginnings. Remaining upset and offended about what happened yesterday doesn’t bring freedom. Living in regret of what you should have done or what could have been doesn’t do anything productive. It’s time to drop it and move forward. You may be a product of your past, but you don’t have to be a prisoner of your past. God already knew every hurt, every loss, and every mistake you would go through. The good news is that for every setback, He’s already arranged a comeback; for every disappointment, a new beginning; for every failure, restoration; for all the ashes, He has beauty. Live in freedom.
PRAYER FOR TODAY: “Father, thank You that Your Spirit is working in my life and bringing me into freedom. Thank You that I can make a clear break with the past and enter into new beginnings. I declare that I am leaving behind what was and coming over into what is. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
