Daily Devotional (March-14-2023) The Path to Success.

Scripture Reference: Luke 16:10 NKJV - He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.

There are many definitions for success in today’s culture. For some, success is defined by the number of accomplishments we’ve made, or the number of possessions we’ve attained.

Jesus’ definition of success is counter-cultural. It has nothing to do with our accomplishments or our possessions—it has everything to do with our character.

Jesus’ teaching in Luke 16:10 is primarily about the content of our character. He says that those who are trusted with small things will be entrusted to larger things. Those who are faithful with what they’ve been given will be given the opportunity to be faithful over more. And those who are dishonest, unfaithful, and untrustworthy, will do the same with what they’re given.

It’s not ultimately important to Jesus whether we are financially successful in life. What’s more important is what we do with what we’ve already been given.

Little acts of faithfulness every day is how our character is shaped over time. The small decisions and the hard decisions are what create us into people of trust and honesty.

If you’re asking God for more in life, make sure that you’re being faithful with the things He has already given you. Use the resources and opportunities you have to build trust and honesty with other people.

God is looking to use people of character rather than people of success. So pray for God to increase your character and to give you the opportunities to become a person who is faithful and honest in every are of life.

Joel Osteen (December-17-2022) Daily Devotion: Help Others Succeed.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Send your grain across the seas, and in time, profits will flow back to you. Ecclesiastes 11:1, NLT

TODAY'S WORD: God’s system works on the principle of sowing and reaping. What you pour out will come back to you in increased measure. When you give generously, a generous harvest will return to you. When you help others succeed, you will find abundant success on your path, too. What are you investing in the lives of the people around you? Are you helping others get ahead? There are people in your life who hold the keys for you to reach your full potential. These are people whom God has placed in your life for you to help along. The higher they rise, the higher you will rise. When you give generously of your time, talent and resources, you are setting yourself up for greater success. People will come across your path who will help you grow and reach your full potential. But you have to do your part to step out and sow the seed. Be on the lookout for ways you can help others. As you give of yourself to help others grow, you’ll rise higher and live the abundant life He has in store for you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Father in heaven, I open my heart to Your heart. I invite You to use me to be a blessing in the lives of others. Show me where to invest my time, talent, and resources for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Joseph Prince (November-10-2020) Daily Devotion: GOOD SUCCESS IS IN YOUR MOUTH.

Joshua 1:8 - This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night…For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

I had always wondered why the Torah (the first five books of Moses) is read out loud by the Jews. Then, a Jewish Christian told me that for generations, they read God’s Word out loud because of Joshua 1:8—“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night.”

The word “meditate” in English means to ponder. But in Hebrew, it is the word hagah, which means to utter or mutter under your breath. In other words, when you meditate on God’s Word, you speak forth or confess His Word instead of just giving it mental assent.

My friend, hagah God’s Word by confessing verses in the areas that you are believing God for breakthroughs. When I was working in sales, I confessed verses like, “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty” (Proverbs 3:9–10). In the first year, I became the top salesman in my company! My way was made prosperous and I enjoyed good success.

“Pastor Prince, I am waiting for God to make my way prosperous.”

No, the Bible says that you will make your way prosperous when you hagah God’s Word. So speak forth verses in the areas which you want to see breakthroughs and you will have good success.

Some people have success that destroys them—you don’t see them in church anymore and their family members don’t get to see them either. That is bad success. But when you hagah God’s Word, you will have good success that does not destroy you.

Now, confessing God’s Word does not move God to do things for you. It is not a formula. God had already moved when He gave up Jesus to die for you. However, when you confess His Word, it moves you from a position of doubt to faith. It moves your heart from a position of “Is it true?” to “I believe it!” When that happens, “you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”!

Joseph Prince (November-08-2018) Daily Devotion: THE LORD WITH YOU EQUALS SUCCESS.

Genesis 39:2 - The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man…

You may have no qualification, position or money—nothing in the natural. But when the Lord is with you, you will end up with everything because He will cause you to be successful.

Joseph had nothing when his Egyptian master Potiphar bought him from the slave market. Yet, even then, it was said of him, “The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man.”

Joseph the slave a successful man? He was a nobody with nothing, not even a shirt on his back, not a dime to his name, no family members with him and no friends to turn to. All he had was the presence of the Lord. But it was precisely because of this that he was successful wherever he was. He eventually became the most powerful man in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh, who set him over all the land of Egypt. Joseph was given power, authority and riches (see Genesis 41:40–44), all because the Lord was with him.

A junior college student worshiping in our church experienced good success in his examination results for the same reason. The first to admit that he was just an average student, he obtained his first ever straight As for all his subjects when he sat for the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) Examination simply believing that he would be successful because the Lord was with him!

Another church member, who was a fresh university graduate, believed that because the Lord was with her, she would be successful in the workforce. Even though she had no work experience and was faced with a gloomy job market, she succeeded in getting her first job in a short period of time and which gave her a salary beyond her expectations. Then, in spite of a directive from the parent company to freeze the wages of all employees, she received a pay increment as well as a company scholarship for further education!

Beloved, it does not matter if you are a nobody with nothing in the natural. When the Lord is with you, you will end up with everything because He will empower you to succeed and live the abundant life. Indeed, you will end up enjoying His favor, goodness and grace!

As the concept suggests, a preacher is one who practices the art of preaching. The word "preaching" is originally associated with the religious sphere of activity. Language researchers note that of all religious texts, this word - like the type of activity itself - is most closely associated with Christianity. Preachers teach Bible truths when speaking to believers or unbelievers.

Most of the Bible's sermons are in the New Testament. The sermon, as we find it in the Book of Acts and the Epistles, is expressive, but at the same time brief. It is built on the fundamental truths of Christianity: the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The preaching of the Church, in whatever form it is delivered - be it an ardent call to repentance for sins and salvation or the gospel story of a relationship with God and people - is by nature Christocentric.

Christian online preaching isn’t just a statement of spiritual truths, but as a sacred act, during which the preacher, in cooperation with the Lord the Holy Spirit, accomplishes the work of salvation for unbelieving listeners and the process of spiritual growth for the saved. Words spoken by a person cannot strengthen faith, but the biblical sermon in the mouths of preachers has a special power that can transform a person's soul. It is on this supernatural power of preaching that the preacher's authority is established.

Despite the fact that the evangelical Church teaches about the priesthood of every born-again Christian, in the work of biblical preaching, special attention is paid to the character and moral character of the preacher. The moral right to proclaim eternal biblical truths, to preach the Gospel from the pulpit or in another setting on behalf of the Church, can not only be those who know these truths, but who have Christian virtues, a character that reflects Christ. We are talking about a person who sincerely loves God and the people to whom he addresses, deeply interested in the eternal and earthly well-being of his listeners. A person with the good name of a Christian, who has a "good testimony" confirmed by time and the Church. Since we are talking about eternal, enduring truths, the writing of which was inspired by the holy God, proclaim them on behalf of the Author, i.e. of God Himself, it is permissible for the one who knows Him personally, has constant communion with Him and obeys Him implicitly. From the point of view of the essence and basis of the message that he proclaims, the preacher is not the author of his message and therefore doesn’t have the right to change the truths being proclaimed. He represents the interests and fulfills the will of the One who authorized him for this with the authority of His glorious name, and, therefore, the preacher is obliged to accurately convey to his audience what was entrusted to him by God. Freely interpreting Scripture and presenting to the audience their own interpretation of eternal biblical truths, posing as God's revelation on behalf of God, is not only a distortion of the truth, but also an ethical violation that entails consequences. However, in the sermon, it is not forbidden to mention personal experience, as well as the experience of other people, examples from various areas of public life to the extent that these examples correspond to the truth and contribute to a more accurate and understandable message of it.

Of course, in the modern world, taking into account the development of communications, a preacher is expected to possess the skills of oratory. This is not a strict requirement, but it is always encouraged, as it is an undeniable advantage and serves the greater benefit and success of the preaching work.

There are many preachers in modern Christianity who have achieved recognized success in the preaching work.
