TD Jakes (March 19, 2024) Daily Devotional: The Hidden Season of Divine Preparation.
Bible Quote: "But the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free." - Luke 4:18
Beloved, let me take you on a journey, a divine expedition, where the Spirit of the Lord moves like a mighty wind, guiding, anointing, and proclaiming the arrival of greatness. As Jesus Christ, the anointed Savior, emerged from the waters of the Jordan, so too does the Spirit of the Lord alight upon each of us, whispering our destinies into the fabric of eternity.
Understand this, the pathway to greatness is often concealed, wrapped in the solace of a hidden season. It is in these quiet moments of divine incubation that God prepares us, molds us, and whispers His divine purposes into our spirits. Like Jesus, who was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, we too may find ourselves in hidden seasons, where our callings are being forged in the silence of preparation.
Do not despair when you find yourself unseen, for in the eyes of the Lord, you are being prepared for a purpose greater than you can imagine. The wilderness, though lonely, is where your spirit is strengthened, your resolve tested, and your heart purified. It was in the wilderness that Jesus was prepared for His ministry, and it is in your wilderness that you will find your strength.
Remember, the validation at the Jordan was crucial for Jesus. It affirmed His identity and mission. Yet, before His message could impact the world, He needed to be hidden, to spend time in communion with the Father. Your hidden season is not a denial of your potential but a divine affirmation that you are being prepared for something monumental.
Greatness is birthed in the Spirit, in pneuma. Every life-changing, life-giving mission begins with a season of divine preparation. Just as Jesus emerged from His hidden season to transform the world, you too will emerge, anointed and ready to fulfill your heavenly calling.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, in the quiet places where Your Spirit speaks, prepare us. In our hidden seasons, mold us into vessels of Your will. May we embrace the solitude of preparation, knowing that You are with us, refining us for greatness. Anoint us, Lord, as You anointed Your Son, that we may emerge ready to proclaim Your goodness and love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Your destination - T.D. Jakes. Proverbs 16:9 "The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps."
TD Jakes Daily Devotional (March 18, 2024) Finding Divine Guidance in Life's Toughest Moments.
Bible Verse: Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him." - Mark 1:12-13 (NKJV)
"I'm about to go off", or did you mean something else? Context is everything, and understanding the full story is essential to grasping the true meaning.
In the passage from Mark 1:9-13, we see Jesus at a pivotal moment in His ministry. He has just been baptized by John, and the heavens have opened to declare Him the beloved Son of God. But immediately after this profound spiritual experience, He is driven into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan.
The wilderness is often seen as a place of desolation and hardship. It's a place where we feel alone, lost, and surrounded by dangers. But in this wilderness, Jesus is not alone. He has angels ministering to Him.
This powerful image serves as a reminder that even in our most challenging times, we are not alone. We may face trials, temptations, and wild beasts in our own wilderness, but we also have angels in our wilderness. These angels may come in the form of friends, family, or even strangers who provide support, encouragement, and guidance.
The wilderness is not just a place of struggle; it's also a place of growth, transformation, and revelation. It's where we come face to face with our true selves and discover the strength and resilience we didn't know we had. It's where we learn to rely on God and recognize the divine assistance that is always available to us.
So if you find yourself in a wilderness right now, remember that you are not alone. You have angels in your wilderness. Embrace the journey, trust in God's plan, and know that you are being guided, protected, and loved.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for the assurance that we are never alone, even in our most trying times. Thank You for the angels in our wilderness, those divine helpers who come to our aid when we need it most. Help us to recognize them and to be grateful for their presence. Give us the strength to face our trials with courage and faith, knowing that You are always with us. Guide us through our wilderness, and lead us to a place of growth, transformation, and deeper understanding of Your love and grace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
T.D. Jakes - Message: The Enemy You Can't See. We have always been in a fight with an invisible enemy. BUT, we have an invisible weapon.
TD Jakes Daily Devotional (March 17, 2024) Embracing God's Presence in Everyday Life.
Psalm 23:1-3 (NIV): "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake." This passage beautifully illustrates God's guidance, provision, and the peace He offers, aligning perfectly with the themes of meeting us where we are, leading us to still waters, and guiding us on our journey of faith.
God's presence is not confined to the walls of churches or the pages of sacred texts. He is the rock of ages, the bread of heaven, and His revelation can come through the most ordinary things. He meets us where we are, in our understanding, in our confusion, in our joy, and in our pain. This is a journey of faith, a journey towards still waters, a journey of self-discovery, and a journey towards embracing God's purpose in our lives.
1. God Meets Us Where We Are: God's revelation doesn't require religious tradition or faith background. He can reveal Himself through a rock or a piece of bread. He takes what we understand and uses it to reveal what we don't. No one is left out; everyone is invited to experience His presence.
2. The Place of Still Waters: In the midst of life's turbulence, God desires to put us in a place of still waters. He wants our center to be calm, even when chaos surrounds us. To find this calm, we must release distractions and focus on Him. It's a place of peace, where we can hear His voice and follow His guidance.
3. The Attack of the Enemy: When greatness is destined within us, the enemy tries to upset our lives. The attacks, the pain, and the struggles are not signs of weakness but indications of greatness. God uses these experiences to shape us, refine us, and bring forth His purpose in our lives.
4. The Power of Direction and Focus: Life requires direction and focus. We must decide whether we wait for things to happen or make them happen. With direction, we resist distraction. We must not be swayed by others' success or our own agony. Faith is the key, believing in what we can't see, and trusting that God's timing is perfect.
5. The Importance of Faith Street: God delivers to Faith Street. When we ask for something, He ships it, but He doesn't tell us when it will arrive. We must stay on Faith Street, believing, trusting, and waiting. If we move away from faith, the package goes back. Faith is the relationship that leads to an abundant life.
6. Coping with Pain and Loss: Life's brevity makes it special. We must cherish those we have, resolve conflicts, and forgive. Time is precious, and we must not waste it on unforgiveness or hatred. We must learn to rebound, reinvent ourselves, and move forward, even when life doesn't work the way we thought it would.
7. Living in Purpose and Delegating: Living in purpose means soaring fearlessly, thinking rather than doing, and delegating tasks to others. We must go from a state of doing to a state of being, where we are the architects of our future. We must consciously go after opportunities and collaborate in our thinking.
8. Owning Your Happiness and Challenging Your Story: Happiness is our responsibility. It's not about possessions or other people; it's about joy in our hearts. We must challenge the stories we tell ourselves, change our perspectives, and rewrite our scripts. We must enjoy the journey, not just the destination, and celebrate all along the way.
God's presence is a journey, a path that leads us to still waters, greatness, direction, faith, coping, purpose, happiness, and joy. It's a journey that requires us to embrace God's presence in every aspect of our lives. It's a journey that invites us to be still, to listen, to trust, and to follow. It's a journey that assures us that no matter where we are, no matter what we face, God is there, meeting us, guiding us, and loving us. It's a journey worth taking.
Heavenly Father, We thank You for being our Shepherd, for leading us beside still waters, and for guiding us on the paths of righteousness. We recognize Your hand in every step of our journey, even when we face trials and tribulations. Lord, we ask that You continue to snatch us from the fires of life, to renew our faith, and to inspire us to live with purpose and direction. Help us to stay on Faith Street, trusting in Your perfect timing and Your perfect will. We thank You for the grace and mercy You've shown us, for the strength You give us to endure, and for the love that never fails. May we always find joy in the journey, celebrate Your blessings all along the way, and never lose sight of Your presence in our lives. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray, Amen.
TD Jakes (March 16, 2024) Daily Devotional: The Unfailing Promise of Redemption.
Bible Quote: "By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient." - Hebrews 11:31
Oh, beloved, let me take you on a journey, a journey deep into the heart of Joshua 6:20-25, where the walls of Jericho crumble, not just as a spectacle of power, but as a testament to the unfathomable grace of God. Imagine, if you will, a God who keeps His word to Rahab, a woman society had cast aside. This story, this beautiful narrative, is not just about walls falling down; it's about barriers breaking, prejudices shattering, and the merciful embrace of God enveloping all who seek Him.
God didn't just save Rahab; He saved her entire lineage, setting them apart, ensuring they did not perish with the condemned city. What does this tell us? It screams of a God who sees beyond our faults, beyond our missteps, and reaches out with a love so profound, so unconditional, that it defies human comprehension. Rahab's story is a beacon of hope for all of us, reminding us that our God is not in the business of discarding, but rather, in the divine work of redeeming.
If God kept His word to Rahab, consider how much more He is willing to keep His word to you. You might feel unworthy, marked by your past, or shackled by your sins, but God sees beyond that. He sees the Rahab in you, the diamond in the rough, waiting to be set free, to shine. When the walls in your life seem insurmountable, remember Jericho. Remember Rahab. Remember that you are set aside, not because of your goodness, but because of His. When the fires of life rage around you, know that you will not burn up, for He has redeemed you, set you apart, and called you His own.
So, when the weight of the world tries to convince you that you're not enough, that you're unworthy of His grace, let your soul echo the words of those who've walked this path before us, "Hallelujah, thank God for saving me." Let your heart join the chorus of countless redeemed, lifting up a crazy praise to the One who promises, who delivers, and who redeems.
Prayer: Oh, Merciful Father, we stand in awe of Your unfailing love and grace. Thank You for seeing beyond our imperfections, for setting us apart, and for the promise of redemption that holds us close. Like Rahab, let our lives be a testament to Your unfailing word, a beacon of hope to the lost. We praise You not because we are good, but because You are good. Thank You for saving us, for redeeming us, and for calling us Your own. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

TD Jakes (March 15, 2024) Daily Devotional: The Unconventional Paths of Blessing.
Bible Quote: "The wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just." - Proverbs 13:22
Oh, beloved, let me speak to your heart today, echoing the profound truths that resonate through the corridors of time and scripture. God moves in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform. It's a divine strategy, not confined to the four walls of our expectations nor limited to the circles of the righteous alone. God's grace, His blessings, and His plans for your life often find their way to you through the most unexpected vessels.
Consider the story of Rahab, a name etched in the annals of faith not for her virtue but for her bold faith in the God of Israel. Rahab, a prostitute, became a pivotal figure in the salvation story, hiding the spies and securing her place and her family's place in the lineage of faith. It wasn't within the polished courts of the temple that this act of faith occurred, but within the walls of a sinner's abode.
God is not looking for the perfect setting or the perfect people to enact His will. He is searching for availability, for hearts open to His calling, no matter their past. The Lord uses the unlikely, the overlooked, the discounted, and yes, even the sinners to unfold His divine plans. Your blessing may not always come from where you expect—wrapped in holiness and tied with a bow of righteousness. Often, it's delivered through the hands of those you least expect, from places you've been taught to question.
We mustn't become so heavenly minded that we lose the earthly good of understanding and compassion. Jesus, our perfect example, associated with tax collectors, sinners, and the marginalized. He showed us that divine love transcends societal boundaries, that grace is not limited to the pews of the church but is abundant in the alleys and byways of life.
Let us not be quick to judge, to turn up our noses at those the world deems unworthy. For in doing so, we may very well be turning away from the very conduits of blessing God has ordained for us. Embrace the wisdom of seeing beyond the external, recognizing that God's ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts higher than our thoughts.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we come before You with open hearts, asking for the grace to see Your hand at work in all things and through all people. Help us to embrace Your unexpected vessels of blessing, to look beyond our prejudices and preconceptions, and to recognize Your divine purpose in every encounter. May we never limit Your boundless grace to our limited understanding. Guide us in love, humility, and wisdom, as we navigate this world, following in the footsteps of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
