Joyce Meyer (February-05-2023) Daily Devotional: You Can Trust God’s Timing

One of the biggest mistakes we make as believers is forgetting that God’s timing rarely matches our timing. We think and plan in earthly terms, and God thinks and plans in eternal terms. We often want what feels good right now, what produces immediate results, but God is willing to be patient and deliberate as He invests in us over a longer period of time to produce results far better and longer lasting than we can imagine.

Just as our children try to talk us into giving them what they want, we sometimes do the same with God. He loves us even more than we love our children, though, and He loves us too much to give us what we want before we’re ready for it. God sees and understands things we can’t see or understand. He knows something born prematurely might struggle to survive, so He waits until He knows everything is fully developed and prepared for the arrival of our dreams.

Without trusting God, we’ll never experience satisfaction and enjoyment in life—we’ll always be striving to “make things happen” within our timeline. We need to remember He not only has the best plan for our lives, but He also knows the perfect timing for each aspect of those plans. Fighting and resisting the timing of God is equivalent to fighting and resisting His will, so we need to learn to trust His timing. God is working, often in ways we cannot see, to bring His plans to pass in our lives in the best possible ways. We can relax, enjoy the ride, and trust that He is working everything out as we’re waiting.

You can trust that God is working on His plan for your life; He is preparing it for you, and you for it. His plan may not come on your timetable, but the arrival of your dream is coming. Just have a seat (trust in Him, enter His rest), and when the time is precisely right, He’ll call your name.

Prayer Starter: Jesus, please help me let go of trying to make things happen that only You can do, and to remember that You’re working things out for my good because You see the full picture. Thank You for working to bring about the dreams You’ve placed in my heart, and for giving me grace to trust You in the meantime. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Joel Osteen (October-22-2022) Today's Word: Unconditional Trust.

Today’s Scripture: Daniel 3:18, NIV - "But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."

Today’s Word: This is what three Hebrew teenagers did in the Scripture. They wouldn't bow down to the king of Babylon's golden idol. He was so furious that he was about to have them thrown into a fiery furnace. They said, "King, we're not worried. We know that our God will deliver us. But even if He doesn't, we're still not going to bow down." That's unconditional trust.

You may have a lot coming against you. Perhaps, you feel as though you're about to be thrown into a fire. This is the key: stay in faith, believe in your dreams, believe the situation will turn around, and then declare, "Even if it doesn't happen my way, I'm still going to be happy. God, if You turn it around, or if You don't turn it around, I'm still going to give You praise." You live like that and all the forces of darkness cannot keep you from your destiny.

Prayer for Today: "Father, thank You that You are worthy of my unconditional trust. There are things in my life that I don't understand, situations I want to see changed, but even if they never happen, I'm still going to trust You. I gladly leave these matters in Your hands. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Joyce Meyer (September-11-2021) Daily Devotion: You Can Trust Me.

One of the greatest ways God will sometimes speak to us is by giving us a deep, unshakeable peace. You might be facing situations where everyone around you is telling you to trust God and be at peace, but you’re struggling to actually let go of the worry. Fears are constantly screaming at you, unnerving you, and threatening you. Friends are saying, “Everything’s going to be okay,” but you find that hard to believe. If this is what you’re facing, I have been there. In 1989, I went to the doctor for a regular checkup. He discovered a fast-growing type of cancer, and recommended surgery immediately.

After I received this news, I struggled with tremendous fear, had trouble sleeping, and there were many times when anxiety hit me so hard that I thought I might fall down. No matter how many of my family members or friends reassured me, I still battled severe fear until about 3am one morning, when God spoke deep inside my heart and said, “Joyce, you can trust Me.” After that, I didn’t experience any sickening fear again. I was still a bit apprehensive as I waited for test results, but I was no longer terrified. I knew I was in God’s hands and whatever happened, He would take care of me.

As it turned out, I didn’t need further treatment after surgery. I ended up thankful instead of fearful, and that can happen in any situation when we receive the love and comfort of God.

If you’re dealing with a lot of fear and anxiety right now, I encourage you to ask Him to help you hear His voice and receive His peace, and He will. If He did it for me, He’ll do it for you!

Prayer Starter: Lord, please help me hear Your voice above the voice of fear. Thank You in advance for giving me the ability to trust You and to have peace in the middle of this storm. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Popular sermons online

As the concept suggests, a preacher is one who practices the art of preaching. The word "preaching" is originally associated with the religious sphere of activity. Language researchers note that of all religious texts, this word - like the type of activity itself - is most closely associated with Christianity. Preachers teach Bible truths when speaking to believers or unbelievers.

Most of the Bible's sermons are in the New Testament. The sermon, as we find it in the Book of Acts and the Epistles, is expressive, but at the same time brief. It is built on the fundamental truths of Christianity: the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The preaching of the Church, in whatever form it is delivered - be it an ardent call to repentance for sins and salvation or the gospel story of a relationship with God and people - is by nature Christocentric.

Christian online preaching isn’t just a statement of spiritual truths, but as a sacred act, during which the preacher, in cooperation with the Lord the Holy Spirit, accomplishes the work of salvation for unbelieving listeners and the process of spiritual growth for the saved. Words spoken by a person cannot strengthen faith, but the biblical sermon in the mouths of preachers has a special power that can transform a person's soul. It is on this supernatural power of preaching that the preacher's authority is established.

Despite the fact that the evangelical Church teaches about the priesthood of every born-again Christian, in the work of biblical preaching, special attention is paid to the character and moral character of the preacher. The moral right to proclaim eternal biblical truths, to preach the Gospel from the pulpit or in another setting on behalf of the Church, can not only be those who know these truths, but who have Christian virtues, a character that reflects Christ. We are talking about a person who sincerely loves God and the people to whom he addresses, deeply interested in the eternal and earthly well-being of his listeners. A person with the good name of a Christian, who has a "good testimony" confirmed by time and the Church. Since we are talking about eternal, enduring truths, the writing of which was inspired by the holy God, proclaim them on behalf of the Author, i.e. of God Himself, it is permissible for the one who knows Him personally, has constant communion with Him and obeys Him implicitly. From the point of view of the essence and basis of the message that he proclaims, the preacher is not the author of his message and therefore doesn’t have the right to change the truths being proclaimed. He represents the interests and fulfills the will of the One who authorized him for this with the authority of His glorious name, and, therefore, the preacher is obliged to accurately convey to his audience what was entrusted to him by God. Freely interpreting Scripture and presenting to the audience their own interpretation of eternal biblical truths, posing as God's revelation on behalf of God, is not only a distortion of the truth, but also an ethical violation that entails consequences. However, in the sermon, it is not forbidden to mention personal experience, as well as the experience of other people, examples from various areas of public life to the extent that these examples correspond to the truth and contribute to a more accurate and understandable message of it.

Of course, in the modern world, taking into account the development of communications, a preacher is expected to possess the skills of oratory. This is not a strict requirement, but it is always encouraged, as it is an undeniable advantage and serves the greater benefit and success of the preaching work.

There are many preachers in modern Christianity who have achieved recognized success in the preaching work.
