David Jeremiah (December-28-2023) Daily Devotional: The King of Love.

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. - John 10:11

Recommended Reading: John 10:11-17 - “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. 12 But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. 17 “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.

Last August in India, a shepherd attempted to lead a flock of sheep over railroad tracks. An oncoming train—the Daulatpur Express—struck sixty sheep, and the shepherd fled the scene. Investigators also found another forty injured sheep in another place. They had been abandoned by the shepherd the night before.

Jesus spoke about shepherds like this, saying: “But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own” (John 10:12-14).

Jesus called Himself the Good Shepherd, and we are His sheep. He loves His sheep, and He knows every one of them. He will not abandon us or harm us. When we don’t know what to do or where to go, we need to remember to keep our eyes on Him.

The King of love my shepherd is, whose goodness faileth never. I nothing lack if I am his, and he is mine forever. - Henry W. Baker

Jack Hibbs (December-25-2023) Weekly Devotional: GIFTS FIT FOR THE KING.

Matthew 2:11 - “And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

Little is known about the wise men who came to pay homage to the newborn King. Ancient writers mention a sect of Babylonian scholars who pursued the study of philosophy, medicine, and science. Some believe Daniel instructed them from the Old Testament regarding the law, the prophets, and the coming Messiah during his Babylonian captivity. What we do know about these travelers is they were Magi from the East who came offering gifts to bestow upon One worthy of worship.

The Magi’s gifts were not typical offerings for a child. One came with the kingly gift of gold. Revelation 19:16 declares Jesus as the “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Another brought frankincense. In the Temple, the priests used frankincense during times of worship and sacrifice. Jesus is our “merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.” (Hebrews 2:17) His sacrifice made a way for all who believe to enjoy fellowship with God forever. But the strangest gift was myrrh, a spice used to embalm the dead. Yet when laid before the manger, we see God’s eternal plan of the cross that awaited His Son.

Gold, honoring His royalty, frankincense signifying His priestly sacrifice, and myrrh for His death. What gift will you offer your King today? Let me share some ideas: your devotion, dedication, passion, pleasure, and possessions. Add to those your family, time, energy, and life. But one gift should be first on the list—your heart.

David Jeremiah (December-20-2023) Daily Devotional: The Birthday of a King!

“…and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” - Luke 2:20

Recommended Reading: Matthew 1:20-23 - But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”  22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

Some people knew him as an accomplished organist who made New York’s St. Michael’s Church vibrate with intensity every Sunday morning. Others knew him as a compassionate worker with disabled children and the founder of a school for underachievers in East Orange, New Jersey. Today we know him as the composer who gave us one of our greatest Christmas carols: William H. Neidlinger.

Neidlinger was born on July 20, 1863, in Brooklyn, New York. He studied in London and Paris, and he taught in Chicago and New Jersey. He was a choral conductor, voice teacher, poet, and organist. A creative editor of songbooks, primarily for children, he was also a pragmatic musical theorist on methods and education. Above all, he was a composer.

While the specifics of the creation of “The Birthday of a King” are unknown, we can guess that it might have been written or children—as his volume of children’s songs was a standard resource for early educators in the latter years of the nineteenth century.

As Neidlinger sought to teach children about the gift of music, God, too, continually seeks to teach His children. We are taught of how the heavens rejoiced and the angels cheered at the birth of our Savior. For Jesus wasn’t born by accident. He entered this world at a preordained moment to fulfill an eternally planned strategy for redeeming the human race. What a birthday celebration that must have been!

We are taught that Christmas is the celebration of the moment the Eternal God entered into humanity through the womb of a virgin—history’s greatest miracle of conception and birth. The reason Christmas captures our attention is that we have the sense that God Himself is being born—born so that we may be born again in Him. In light of these teachings, how can we also not rejoice and focus on the joy that appeared that first Christmas night?

As we inch closer to the birthday of our Savior, write out, as a family, a list of the things you are joyful for. Although it may be hard amongst the busyness of the season, take some time to sit down and really contemplate what “joy” is in your life. Perhaps you’re joyful for good health, a new job opportunity, or an impending graduation. Whatever falls on your list, thank God for it all.

Alleluia! O how the angels sang. Alleluia! How it rang!
And the sky was bright with a holy light, ’Twas the birthday of a King.

John Hagee  Sermon: The King of kings. Here is the resurrection story. On Thursday night, more than 2,000 years ago, Jesus of Nazareth was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane just outside the Easter Walls of Jerusalem. His disciples slept as He prayed. The guards came to take Him down the Via Dolorosa to Golgotha, where He sweat drops of crimson blood…as the sins of the world were placed upon Him. He was and is…and always shall be the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Matt Hagee ( Sermon: The King is Coming Back.

Pastor Matt tells us that every Christians’ life should be full of…life.

The Bible tells us that in Him we live and move and have our being. Walk through history for just a minute to a day 2,000 years ago when Jesus entered Jerusalem for the last time. In that moment, things looked bleak. Now think of the future, when Christ will return to Jerusalem for His bride. What a day that will be! Are you ready for His triumphant return?

John MacArthur (Mark 11:1-11) Sermon: The False Coronation of the True King

John Hagee  Sermon: The King of the East.

Pastor Hagee tells us that the Kings of the East found in Scripture represent modern day China, Japan and North Korea. China has been buying up U.S. farm land for years. Will they recall their debt? Will the borrower become slave to the lender?

Find out why Pastor believes that the Gog-Magog war has already begun, and how we can prepare as Believers. He is coming as a thief in the night for those who are awaiting His appearance. But He is not coming to rapture those who are not looking for Him.

The Battle of Armageddon is coming for those left behind, and the blood will run for 200 miles to the bridle of a horse. Get ready, Church! The King is coming!

John Hagee Sermon: The King of the North.

Pastor John Hagee says that while the name Russia doesn’t appear in Scripture, the geographic location is given in the Bible with pinpoint accuracy. In this powerful teaching on the King of the North (which represents Russia), Pastor quickly unveils hours of deep research on Biblical prophecy, explaining in great detail why the Gog-Magog War has already begun. This sermon walks us through history, explains the geographic significance and maps out God’s plan for each of us as recorded more than 3,000 years ago in his Holy Word. How does this affect you? How does it affect Israel? Get your note-taking materials out. This sermon is drenched in historic and prophetic data, without a doubt demonstrating how the world stage is being set for the appearance of King Jesus…and of his Kingdom, there shall be no end.

As the concept suggests, a preacher is one who practices the art of preaching. The word "preaching" is originally associated with the religious sphere of activity. Language researchers note that of all religious texts, this word - like the type of activity itself - is most closely associated with Christianity. Preachers teach Bible truths when speaking to believers or unbelievers.

Most of the Bible's sermons are in the New Testament. The sermon, as we find it in the Book of Acts and the Epistles, is expressive, but at the same time brief. It is built on the fundamental truths of Christianity: the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The preaching of the Church, in whatever form it is delivered - be it an ardent call to repentance for sins and salvation or the gospel story of a relationship with God and people - is by nature Christocentric.

Christian online preaching isn’t just a statement of spiritual truths, but as a sacred act, during which the preacher, in cooperation with the Lord the Holy Spirit, accomplishes the work of salvation for unbelieving listeners and the process of spiritual growth for the saved. Words spoken by a person cannot strengthen faith, but the biblical sermon in the mouths of preachers has a special power that can transform a person's soul. It is on this supernatural power of preaching that the preacher's authority is established.

Despite the fact that the evangelical Church teaches about the priesthood of every born-again Christian, in the work of biblical preaching, special attention is paid to the character and moral character of the preacher. The moral right to proclaim eternal biblical truths, to preach the Gospel from the pulpit or in another setting on behalf of the Church, can not only be those who know these truths, but who have Christian virtues, a character that reflects Christ. We are talking about a person who sincerely loves God and the people to whom he addresses, deeply interested in the eternal and earthly well-being of his listeners. A person with the good name of a Christian, who has a "good testimony" confirmed by time and the Church. Since we are talking about eternal, enduring truths, the writing of which was inspired by the holy God, proclaim them on behalf of the Author, i.e. of God Himself, it is permissible for the one who knows Him personally, has constant communion with Him and obeys Him implicitly. From the point of view of the essence and basis of the message that he proclaims, the preacher is not the author of his message and therefore doesn’t have the right to change the truths being proclaimed. He represents the interests and fulfills the will of the One who authorized him for this with the authority of His glorious name, and, therefore, the preacher is obliged to accurately convey to his audience what was entrusted to him by God. Freely interpreting Scripture and presenting to the audience their own interpretation of eternal biblical truths, posing as God's revelation on behalf of God, is not only a distortion of the truth, but also an ethical violation that entails consequences. However, in the sermon, it is not forbidden to mention personal experience, as well as the experience of other people, examples from various areas of public life to the extent that these examples correspond to the truth and contribute to a more accurate and understandable message of it.

Of course, in the modern world, taking into account the development of communications, a preacher is expected to possess the skills of oratory. This is not a strict requirement, but it is always encouraged, as it is an undeniable advantage and serves the greater benefit and success of the preaching work.

There are many preachers in modern Christianity who have achieved recognized success in the preaching work.
