Joel Osteen (January-30-2021) Today's Word: The Way of Escape
Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:13, ESV - God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Today’s Word: One evening King David walked around on the roof of his palace and saw a beautiful young lady taking a bath. Whenever we face temptation, God will always have a moment of grace, a time where you have the strength to resist and walk away. But that moment of grace doesn't last hour after hour. Right at the start, you have to be disciplined and do the right thing. David let his guard down and one compromise led to another.
Life brings us certain defining moments that not only affect us, but they affect our children and future generations. When you're in a situation where you're tempted to compromise, to get upset, to be bitter, every voice tells you, "Just do it. It&'s not going to hurt anything." Don't believe those lies. When those tempting thoughts come, get them out of your mind. That's the battlefield. If you let it stay, it's going to draw you in and lead you to compromise. It's going to affect your destiny.
Prayer for Today: "Father, thank You that You promise a way of escape for any temptation I face. Help me to guard my mind and heart and be strong to resist temptation and compromise. I declare that even in the small things I will do what I know in my heart is right and live with integrity. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
Joyce Meyer (October-26-2022) Daily Devotion: A New Way to Live.
When you become a Christian by receiving Jesus as your Savior, He actually comes to live inside you by His Spirit, and you can be led by His Spirit throughout your life. You no longer have to feel you must follow religious rules and regulations, thinking you can please God by doing everything “right.” The Holy Spirit will guide you into God’s plans for your life, which are better than anything you could plan for yourself. This is truly a new way of living—a way of love, peace, freedom, fulfillment, and joy. You can begin it today, and it’s a journey you will be on for the rest of your life.
Anytime you try to do anything new, you have to learn how to do it. That’s also true with a new way of living. Some of what you learn may seem unusual because it’s different than anything you’ve done before, and it’s usually the complete opposite of what this world teaches us. For example, in God’s new way of living, people who try to be first end up last, while those who put themselves last end up first (see Matthew 20:16). If someone wants one thing from us, we can give them even more (see Matthew 5:40), and instead of holding grudges against people who’ve hurt us, we’re empowered to forgive them (see Matthew 18:21–22).
Jesus’ teaching to forgive those who use, abuse, or wound us—and then to go even further and actually love and bless them (see Luke 6:27–28)—was a difficult one for me. It meant forgiving my father for sexually abusing me and forgiving my mother, who knew about it and ignored it, choosing instead to treat me as though I were the one doing something wrong. Forgiving them seemed totally unreasonable to me. It took a long time for me to be willing to do that, but when I finally did (only by God’s grace), it set me free to move forward and heal. I urge you to forgive anyone that you have anything against.
Learning to forgive is only one of many lessons God has taught me about His way of living (which is why I say it’s a lifetime journey), and it’s one I’m still learning. I want you to know that every path the Holy Spirit has led me to take on this new way has always brought me to a better place than I was before, and He will never ask you to do anything difficult unless it’ll lead you into something greater.
Because the new way isn’t always easy, you might be tempted at times to fall back into your old ways, which is totally normal. But if you’ll resist that temptation and ask God to help you press on in His new way of living, your life will become better and ultimately easier than you ever thought possible.
Prayer Starter: Father, please help me keep going in this new way of life that You have for me. Thank You for making a way for me to heal and move forward into more and more freedom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Joel Osteen (October-18-2022) Today's Word: Be on Your Way.
Today’s Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:1, NIV - The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king."
Today’s Word: The prophet Samuel invested years of his life pouring his heart and soul into mentoring Saul as the king only to face the great disappointment of seeing Saul be rejected by God for his disobedience. Perhaps you spent years investing in a relationship that didn't last, years working toward a dream that suddenly ended, years of doing the right thing only to have it fall apart. Samuel was heartbroken and rightfully grieved. Yes, there's a season of mourning. When you go through a loss or a disappointment, you don't have to be super human and not feel anything. But you can't let a season of mourning turn into a lifetime of mourning.
At some point, you have to quit looking backward and move forward. God has a new dream, a new relationship, a new beginning. God has a David already lined up for you, the greatest king who ever lived. Your greatest joys, your greatest victories, your greatest accomplishments are still in your future.
Prayer for Today: "Father, thank You for new seasons, new dreams, new relationships, new beginnings. Thank You that after a season of disappointment and mourning over a Saul that You already have a David lined up. I look forward to joy and fulfillment like I've never seen. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Dr. Charles Stanley When Faith Gives Way To Fear - Today Sermon. Even when we're led astray by fears and temptations, God knows how to get us back on His track. In this message, Dr. Stanley examines a time when Abraham lost sight of God’s promise and took things into his own hands. From this story, we can learn why trusting God is always the best option. But when we fail, He’s still the ever-present help in our times of trouble. Don't let fear tell you what to do—trust God to keep His promises to you.

Joel Osteen - Sermon - It's On The Way.
In Mark 6, Jesus went back to His hometown to teach the local people. But because they didn’t believe, their lack of faith limited His miracle-working power in their lives.
Did you know that our lack of faith and unbelief can limit what God wants to do in our lives? That’s why it’s important to stay in faith, even when situations look like they’ll never work out or even when things seem dead. Jesus raised the dead, He healed the sick, He made the impossible possible and can still do the same in your life today if you will just believe. Let this message build your faith and ignite hope in your life like never before!
Are you relying on what others say or don’t say for your value? Are you frustrated today because you don’t have the support from others around you?
One of the greatest lessons in life is to learn that your true value does not come from people; it comes from Almighty God. Yet many people today rely on the complements, encouragement and approval of others to feel good about themselves and stay motivated.
Paul said in Philippians 4:13, “I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency.” Let Joel show you who you are in Christ and how to go to Him for your value and self-worth. As you apply these biblical principles, not only will you live a more peaceful life, but your relationships will improve, too!
