Daily Devotional (January-15-2023) Power At Work

Ephesians 5:17-20 - “Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. [18] And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; [19] Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; [20] Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

We understand that once you receive Jesus Christ, you are recreated and in this recreation, power and kingdom dignity is planted in your Human Spirit making you a creature that has never existed before. This is what the Bible mean by if a man be in Christ, he is a new creation. But sometimes the Power we have heard of in the days of old seems not to be a reality in our lives.

Today, we are going to talk about how to activate and Carry that power given to you by your heavenly father. Our opening verses are telling us something about the will of our father. It says “Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. [18] And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; [19] Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; [20] Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; " .

Have you seen that, to carry the power of God is to be fill with the spirit in excess and that it is the Will of God? But the question is, which spirit was Paul talking about? Was it the Holy Spirit? Certainly not because we are told already by scripture that we are full of the Holy Spirit of God. So which Spirit was Paul talking about specifically?

What did Jesus say concerning the word spirit? Jesus said "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." Jesus said his words are spirit and life. In order words, Jesus’ words are spirit that gives life, that carry power, that connects you to the supernatural. Paul was not telling us to be fill with the Holy Spirit because he knew we were already fill with the spirit of God. Paul was telling us to be fill with the words of our master Jesus Christ which are spirit and life. What Paul meant was that we be rooted in the Word of God to be able to function as who truly we are.

People of God, you cannot carry the word of God and not carry power. If you carry the word, you will automatically carry power which the world will see. People say the word of God is powerful yet they are very empty without power. They Word of God is only powerful on the lips of a believing Christian hallelujah!

For power to be at word, the Word of God MUST and should be put to Word. A person of the Word is a person of Power and Fire. When he speaks a thing, He speaks it with divine accuracy. This morning, we are encouraging you to study the Word of God because it is your Weapon for Battle. All things may fail you but what the Word of God says is what it will definitely accomplish.

Have a good day remembering that, a person of the Word is a person of Power and Fire.

Matt Hagee  Sermon: Go to Work on Your Marriage.

Pastor Matt says that you don’t perform at your highest potential. You perform at your highest level of preparation. Even if you are gifted, you must be prepared. Every marriage begins with great potential. At the wedding ceremony we toast the bride and groom and their potential. But if truly great things are to become a reality in a married couple’s life, it is up to the two individuals in the relationship to work together and make it happen. A biblical marriage is the foundation of the family. Enjoy this sermon and find out how to enhance your marriage by living a righteous life before God, working together to fulfill his plan for your family.

Joyce Meyer (March-18-2022) Daily Devotion: Relax! God Is Working.

Being relaxed feels wonderful. Being nervous, tense, and worried are not so wonderful. Why aren’t more people relaxed? Jesus said if we are weary and overburdened, we should go to Him and He will give us rest, relaxation, and ease (see Matthew 11:28–29).

Jesus wants to teach us the right way to live, which is different from the way most of the world lives.

It would be putting it mildly to say that I was an uptight woman for the first half of my life. I simply did not know how to relax, and it was due to me not being willing to completely trust God. I trusted God for things, but not in things. I kept trying to be the one in control. Even though God was in the driver’s seat of my life, I kept one hand on the wheel just in case He took a wrong turn.

Relaxation is impossible without trust! If you know you can’t fix the problem you have, then why not relax while God is working on it? It sounds easy, but it took many years for me to be able to do this.

I know from experience that the ability to relax and go with the flow in life is dependent upon our willingness to trust God completely. If things don’t go your way, instead of being upset, you can believe that getting your way was not what you needed. God knew that, so He gave you what was best for you, instead of what you wanted.

If you are waiting much longer than you had hoped to, you can get frustrated, angry, and upset, or you can say, “God’s timing is perfect; He is never late. And my steps are ordered by the Lord.” Now you can relax and simply go with the flow of what is happening in your life.

When it comes to things that are out of our control, we can either ruin the day or relax and enjoy it while God is working on the situation. As long as we believe, God keeps working!

Prayer Starter: Father, right now I commit all of my cares, concerns and circumstances to You. Help me, moment by moment, to trust You—to give my burdens to You and relax in Your love, knowing You have everything under control. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

John MacArthur Sermon: The Work of the Word (Fiftieth Anniversary Celebration). 2 Timothy 3:16-4:5

Victoria Osteen - Sermon: Created To Do Good Works. In this message, Victoria will teach on what are good works through Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2 says, "we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works." We are God's handiwork. He is making us. He is molding us. God has created us to do good works. God is working through us in our good works. What is a good work? When we're patient. When we choose joy. When we choose peace. When we're serving others. Within those good works God is working something in us.

Joel Osteen (January-25-2023) Daily Devotion: Relax and Let God Work.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Cease striving and know that I am God... Psalm 46:10, NASB

TODAY'S WORD: We all have to make numerous decisions throughout the day. When you face a difficult decision, did you know you can ask God to lead you in the right direction? You'll be amazed at the insight you get from relying on God instead of striving to find the answers on your own. If you’re constantly trying to figure things out and make things happen instead of waiting for God’s timing, you’ll wear yourself out. Instead, why don’t you come back to a place of rest, knowing God is in control. His ways are higher than ours. If you’ll trust Him to do things His way, you’ll see His best plan for your life unfold. When you feel worried or uptight, that’s the time to say, “God, give me Your wisdom to make good decisions. I refuse to worry. I’m staying in peace, knowing that You are in control.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY: God, thank You for remaining in control even when I'm worried or stressed. Give me Your supernatural wisdom to make decisions that honor You and are for my good. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

As the concept suggests, a preacher is one who practices the art of preaching. The word "preaching" is originally associated with the religious sphere of activity. Language researchers note that of all religious texts, this word - like the type of activity itself - is most closely associated with Christianity. Preachers teach Bible truths when speaking to believers or unbelievers.

Most of the Bible's sermons are in the New Testament. The sermon, as we find it in the Book of Acts and the Epistles, is expressive, but at the same time brief. It is built on the fundamental truths of Christianity: the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The preaching of the Church, in whatever form it is delivered - be it an ardent call to repentance for sins and salvation or the gospel story of a relationship with God and people - is by nature Christocentric.

Christian online preaching isn’t just a statement of spiritual truths, but as a sacred act, during which the preacher, in cooperation with the Lord the Holy Spirit, accomplishes the work of salvation for unbelieving listeners and the process of spiritual growth for the saved. Words spoken by a person cannot strengthen faith, but the biblical sermon in the mouths of preachers has a special power that can transform a person's soul. It is on this supernatural power of preaching that the preacher's authority is established.

Despite the fact that the evangelical Church teaches about the priesthood of every born-again Christian, in the work of biblical preaching, special attention is paid to the character and moral character of the preacher. The moral right to proclaim eternal biblical truths, to preach the Gospel from the pulpit or in another setting on behalf of the Church, can not only be those who know these truths, but who have Christian virtues, a character that reflects Christ. We are talking about a person who sincerely loves God and the people to whom he addresses, deeply interested in the eternal and earthly well-being of his listeners. A person with the good name of a Christian, who has a "good testimony" confirmed by time and the Church. Since we are talking about eternal, enduring truths, the writing of which was inspired by the holy God, proclaim them on behalf of the Author, i.e. of God Himself, it is permissible for the one who knows Him personally, has constant communion with Him and obeys Him implicitly. From the point of view of the essence and basis of the message that he proclaims, the preacher is not the author of his message and therefore doesn’t have the right to change the truths being proclaimed. He represents the interests and fulfills the will of the One who authorized him for this with the authority of His glorious name, and, therefore, the preacher is obliged to accurately convey to his audience what was entrusted to him by God. Freely interpreting Scripture and presenting to the audience their own interpretation of eternal biblical truths, posing as God's revelation on behalf of God, is not only a distortion of the truth, but also an ethical violation that entails consequences. However, in the sermon, it is not forbidden to mention personal experience, as well as the experience of other people, examples from various areas of public life to the extent that these examples correspond to the truth and contribute to a more accurate and understandable message of it.

Of course, in the modern world, taking into account the development of communications, a preacher is expected to possess the skills of oratory. This is not a strict requirement, but it is always encouraged, as it is an undeniable advantage and serves the greater benefit and success of the preaching work.

There are many preachers in modern Christianity who have achieved recognized success in the preaching work.
